Weapon damage in the alpha was pretty high on most weapons. Quick kills/deaths. I actually thought damage was a little high on most guns.. but it's fun. The first recon rifles sorta sucked, but were pretty effective without a scope. Movement is good.. it took me a little getting used to the heavy first person animations.. but it's pretty quick. I did not like the alpha map much (hate rush) but I think the gameplay is great.

Some things seem to be changing rapidly right now too.

Nope. You only enter that stance after a medic revives you though. It's when you're given the option to revive or spawn.

I see. Thats... Okay. I'd much rather thinking your about to spawn then theres a flash of light and it turns out your pals have come to save you.

Great moments in BC2

It's just a stopgap to prevent stupid medics from reviving you in combat. I like that it's there. Allowing you to fire your pistol is a little silly.. but it's not really like last stand since you don't drop immediately into that position..

I suppose thats good, when you say it like that.

Phew...

You had me worried there.

Ok wait, break that revive and last stand-like function down again... You don't immediately go to a last-stand position, you bleed out then if revived goto last-stand instead of actually revived? then what?> You just crawl around till death or?

That right?

Death is treated like any other Battlefield game at first.. you go into that standard bleed-out position. If you're revived, you pull out your pistol and you can crawl around until/fire 1) someone finishes you off, 2) you choose to stand up or 3) you opt out and force the respawn. It's not automatically abusable, but I will say that in the beta I did tend to stick around after death even if I had no intention of standing back up. Might as well try to grab a few tickets/kills while you're still "dead." Getting killed from that position does not result in the loss of another ticket or another death.

I actually like it for the most part. Pulling out your pistol and crawling around may be a little cheesy or cheap, but being able to opt out of revives is a great addition to the game.

I miss the permanent death scenarios from BF2.. you could not be revived from some things. I don't know if that's still in or not.

tldr: yes, i think you have the right idea

I'm waiting on a response from EA on the incoming backlash, but it is bullshit. It won't stop me from playing the game though. I couldn't even imagine opting to play the console version when I have the option.

It's a bummer that the business of playing games has to interfere with.. playing games.

thats gay.
If true that is downright disrespectful to your customer base. Not that it matters when you only care about the quarterly statement.

MTYF, do you think this will apply to later versions (GOTY) of games? Was going to get Skyrim for 360 at first and then the GOTY edition for PC.

Is that actually something you've seen in a TOS or are you still just making shit up?

They updated the EULA already (new paragraph):
Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and EA
would never sell your personally identifiable information to anyone, nor would it
ever use spyware or install spyware on users’ machines. We and agents acting
on our behalf do not share information that personally identifies you without your
consent, except in rare instances where disclosure is required by law or to
enforce EA’s legal rights.
That's a little better, I guess. It's more in line with what companies like Valve do already do. I'm not going to get pissy about them selling information to advertisers.. but the privacy concerns are valid.

EULA's are fun, aren't they? No one reads them, and as a result they're packed full of stuff that would shock most people if they actually did. Unfortunately for DICE.. some damage has already been done here. EA is seriously sabotaging their launch. Stop messing up a sure thing morons!

Awesome vids man! That guy does sound a bit douchey though, lol. Why does he have to use every vehicle/weapons nomenclature every time? Do they think it sounds more hardcore that way, or is just so enthusiasts can look up each weapon?
