You should get over the grip. It's not very good anymore.
That said there are some beastly guns out there, each exceptional in its role. I really liked the AK-74M and the AKS with heavy barrel. The M4A4 is still good, but considering you have to play more cautious anyway I find it hard to justify giving up the laser beam accuracy of the AKs. The SG553 seems to be a good middleground between the two.
I tried the M240B and from what I can tell this is a beastly gun. It drops enemies like no other, I love it. Haven't played with any other LMGs, but I'll definetely check out the RPK.
And I'm the last guy to scream overpowered, I didn't even think the FAMAS was OP since it had a lot of drawbacks that made it a one trick pony. But the SKS is seriously OP. That thing has virtually no recoil with a flash suppressor. It's so accurate I can drop enemies at virtually any distance and it has very good hip fire. The intended role is medium range combat, and it's probably the best weapon for that. But as far as I can tell it has no drawbacks. imo it should at least suffer a penalty in close range combat like any other sniper.
As for the rest of the changes, mostly I think they were good. Tanks were way too powerfull before the patch and imo they still are incredibly effective against infantry and even helis (with a competent tank crew that is). Ceramic armor extends their lifespan consierably, it's essentially a must have perk now. Of course you're finished when you get engy bombed, but that's the way it works and imo it makes tank combat way more interesting and fast paced.
And while everything runs faster and smother now the changes to suppression made infantry combat a crawl fest, I don't like it. The concept of it is good, but it's way too much. It shouldn't play any role at all at short ranges, imo.
I hate the PKP btw.. one more reason for me to hate support players. Boo!

All of my shots is hitting them with getting a hit marker, thats clearly obvious that I am hitting them.
I would love to know and get tips on how PS3 players can get snapshots so damn quickly, if its me just sucking at quick aim precision or its something with the analog, I dont know (probably me lol).
For example I would see the enemy first and by the time I aim at them (their direction is not on me) they turn and kill me quickly, I sometimes dont even make to shoot at them.
But I am still hanging in there to learn to master the aim and the weapons as much as possible considering I love so many stuff the game has.
There's still plenty to pick up on there on any platform though.
I went back to the M16A3 a bit.. it was a bit like returning to an old friend. Just running the flash suppressor right now, which is working pretty well. If you don't like recoil Sath, that's definitely a good attachment to try.
The M16A3 is fantastic! Reflex scope, foregrip and and a heavy barrell OR a silencer, very cool weapon.
I like the reflex scope much more than the KOBRA, I hate it lol.
Thing is on PS3 i cant take tips from someone about recoil and aim that is on PC since on PC you have more precision and light movement to pull the weapon down and control it, on analogs its harder.
And on PC, there is no input lag, something that is on PS3.
After hours of playing BF3, I went to play Killzone 3, one match, I absolutely loved how fast and smooth the aiming was and I was great at it. Fast reactions and whatnot, its something wrong with the game and DICE got to fix this shit since its 50/50 that makes it rather unplayable for me and I am not the only one who is saying this.
I dont understand why medics are basically playing God, i mean if someone is dead they are dead, you cant revive them again, its silly.
I find Killzone to do this perfectly. If you are down but not dead you can see them moving then you can revive them. But if they get killed plain simple then thats the end of it, there is no way of "resurrecting" someone.
I think that alone as playing God as a medic helps more respawning over and over and help camping with combined with squad respawn.
I seriously hate this feature and how its designed.
Just let me die and re-deploy for god sakes and stop taking my time to do so!
Also, the principle is the same of course, but harder to do.
Hence I should take tips from someone from PS3 player and how his set up is, on sensitivity, set up that combines well with the analog...etc. its a bit different IMO.

I was surprised how fantastic the weapon felt, extremely powerful and can be accurate. Once I started using it, I kept dominating in my team than any other weapon before it.
My last match in TDM was 65/10 on K/D, highest on both teams and we won all the times and I kept getting on top. Nobody else got above 40 kills lol.
Weapon is fantastic. I just need a ACOG scope instead, its also a 3.4 zoom.
One of the better weapons and combination I have gone for. Other than the AEK-971 + foregrip and iron sight and heavy barrel.
For long range and accuracy I figured out that the Heavy Barrel does the trick so I go with that one and the foregrip, good to go.
I am so mixed with the game, sometimes I love it, sometimes it gets on my nerves with alot of "wtf" moments in gunplay, mostly when you shoot more than 10 shots with all hit markers showing and they wont die.
I've been running the M16A3 again with just the flash suppressor and I'm going to keep at it until I hit 10,000 M16A3 kills. It still feels awesome.
I also love the A-91. I have to recommend Back 2 Karkand too. The maps are really great and the 10 guns you get are also a nice addition. If you keep playing, it's easily recommendable.
But I dont know, Foregrip seems to work, but like you said, it is difficult to know for sure.
I have used semi and full auto and when I hit the enemy and get hit markers it feels like bulletsponge to me that they dont die.
In Hardcore mode (LOVE the hit damage) is exactly proof that I am hitting them perfectly, I wish the normal hit damage was like Hardcore since that to me is good enough to make sure you are more careful around you.
Now about the DLC, considering I am so mixed about BF3, I wont be getting any DLC for it, I guess not until DICE makes a new patch for PS3 to fix the stupid input lag and weapon recoil.
I dont even know how long I will play BF3 lol

Is it only on snipers with alot of zoom in or does it work with regular assault rifles and ACOG for example? Because I am not noticing much when I use it.
On PS3 its L3 button (option being PRESS or HOLD).
They don't need to fix weapon recoil. This isn't supposed to be Call of Duty. Learn to control your fire and your accuracy will improve and so will the time it takes to drop baddies. And I'm sure the grip works.. but I don't think decreasing horizontal recoil is worth the accuracy penalty.

About the steadyness, good to know because the Hint in loading isnt specific about it, just says scopes.
About the recoil, IMO they should fix it, atleast on consoles since we dont have the luxury of high control and precision as mouse so its more difficult.
Also, when I say recoil i dont mean CoD, more like Killzone since the recoil isnt crazy but it isnt easy to control either. IMO its perfectly balanced.

I use ADS ALOT so obviously I got to check more on the benefits that gives me more ADS control and good range. I barely use hipfire in this game.
