As for the video.....WOW, that's freaking amazing! Those are some amazingly detailed car models. That's what I like to see.
I keep saying this, but I really hope they release a demo. I need to play it, otherwise I'm not sure if I'll buy this.
I'm not that bothered by the physics or anything. It looks a bit weird in 3rd person view allright, but with he cockpit view it seems perfectly fine to me and that's the only perspective I'll be playing with.
Not saying that the physics aren't weird or anything, they're probably leaps and bounds inferiour to Forza 2's physics, but it's not that high on my priority list when it comes to racing games.
As long as they're decent enough, it's all good...

New Hands on from IGN.
Here is some of it.
Indeed, DiRT's sophisticated damage system means that every knock, nudge and crunch really does make a difference. Lose a front wing or body panel by overdoing it into a corner and the damage is largely cosmetic so you won't really notice any difference in the handling. However, hit a boulder at full pelt and you could easily bend or, worse still, break the steering column, meaning either the car continually pulls to the side for the remainder of the race or, worse case scenario, you're out of the running completely. Naturally, the difficulty can be toned down to make the racing experience more arcade-y but, in our opinion, having a completely realistic damage model is essential if DiRT is to remain faithful to its roots. Besides, wrecking a car is a lot of fun!
However, we have a few reservations at this point. For example, those looking for a MotorStorm-style mud-bath will be sorely disappointed. The gameplay is just as accessible and your car kicks up clouds of dirt and dust as it zips across the surface of the track but, from what we've seen, there's little in the way of track deformation. Tyre and skid marks are left in the dirt, but they don't really make much of a difference to the handling of your car. This may well change in the final game - this was certainly true of MotorStorm, which was similarly mud-free in the early versions we played. Plus, to be fair, the courses we've experienced had mostly dry surfaces, so we're hoping to see more evidence of tyres cutting into the mud in the finished game.
Likewise, the frame-rate on some of the courses is a bit choppy currently. On the Rally Raid track, with five other cars squeezed into the same spot, it still flew along - but a drop in smoothness was really noticeable. This issue wasn't so bad on other courses and was barely noticeable as we edged out in front or fell behind the pack, but it's still there. If Codemasters nails these problems and gets the other aspects of the game - the Career, Championship and multiplayer modes - right then Colin McRae is on target to regain its rallying crown.

After watching that replay, I can finally tell the cars do lack lots of body movement. In other words, physics are pretty much "so-so", not great by any means. Still, this game is in my watch list........We'll see how it goes.
2 new gameplay videos
2nd one shows off some of the in-car view at the beginning of the race.

Besides that the gameplay is pretty much confirmed to suck. I just don't see it. Cars move very unrealistically.......in the subaru video, you can clearly see the lack of body movement, and suspension, the car simply sways to the sides. In a time when games like LFS (live for speed) where you can see tire pressure realistically react to the road, I think things like that are unnaceptable.
Gameplay is immersive as hell, and that's more important to me than realistic handling/physics.
I just hope there's plenty of content to keep me occupied for a while and it's all good... :)

I don't notice any unnatural chopiness. If you are talking about the way the car constantly jerks then that is normal in rally racing since the driver is constantly realigning the car depending on the roads surface.

FUCK UTAH!
Thanks for the link Kenshin, at the end it does say the handling has been toned down for casuals.............So I don't know, this game is right at the limits.
