I am Crysis whore and after playing the demo I am totally hooked
Real Madrid C.F. fan.
Don't buy it right now and build a decent pc first

I'd build a new computer just for the DX11 eye candy, the console version struggles to run the game (The single player portion)

there is no-way i'd throw down god knows how much cash getting a PC that can run it's sequel on high when we have the exact same game with lesser graphics on consoles. i mean, same locations, same enemies, same AI, same set peices, same weapons, same simplified/consolified gamplay....i dont think it'd be worth 4-5 hundred notes just to remove the pop-in and LOD issues (my only real problems with the games visuals on consoles) plus i can at least rent games on consoles. something i can't do with PC games.
i guess if you're really into crysis, sure, building a new PC for its sequel is a good idea, but for me, it's just illogical, especially for crysis 2. hell. it'd be illogical for me to do it for bad company 3 too...sorry, i mean battlefield 3...lol
But I don't know why anyone would pick the console version over the PC version....thing with having a tight PC is that the ports these days run so well on PC. You can get most games running @ 1080p @ 60 FPS with a little tweaking here and there. If you want to subject yourself to inferior graphics and $60 price tags be my guest but I just love the graphics & Steam....
BTW Dead Space 2 just dropped to $40 on Steam while the console ver still retails for $60. I'd be all over this deal if I had the money

and i support developers i feel are worth supporting. crytech, with crysis 2 arnt imo, it's a rental. sadly you can't do that on PC. it's buy it full price, day one, wait for the price to drop or do the alternative. non are particualrly ideal when it comes to a game you're not super interested in.

I'm all for waiting for price drops on PC too. There's no way I'm buying Bulletstorm and Crysis 2 for $60 a pop, but I intend to get both eventually.

I love this game!
I love this game!
Its RivaTuner right?
Found D3D Overrider in the Tools map in River Tuner, did whatever the Youtube guy showed me, but I still removed Vsync because screentearing isnt something I care for much, but Triple Buffering, was on on High.
But the guy recommended Game Booster, I downloaded that as well, and it automatically removed any bullshit background program that was running so I could have a much better performance.
Result, I changed from Gamer to Hardcore, 1680x1050 resolution, no Vsync...holy shit what a damn difference!
Perfectly great, not 60fps (unless it was in tight places like in the office in Skyline) but I would say it was 30fps or high.
Skyline ran great, but my main concern was Pier 17, but it ran great for me...on Hardcore!
This alone makes want to install Crysis Warhead without mod try on High/Very High just to see how well it goes LOL
I am super happy because it doesnt just apply to Crysis 2, but to many, thanks Doom Bringer ;)
PS. This is the video I watched http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DM1f87YOPA
PSS. What is Radeon Pro Tool? I got an Radeon card as well, should I download it? I CCC, Game Booster and D3D Overrider at the moment.
but yea the game is running so well now!! Before I was getting a lot of keyboard/mouse lag but now its all gone with 20 FPS boost :D
I had to mix it with medium and gamer to get a proper good stuff going on, but now, Enthusiast, amazing stuff, especially with Shadow and and HDR or whatever its called, they really eat your perfomance.
Bring me Crysis 2 now! LOL
Thanks alot Doom Bringer, great tips.
I am surprised I am running this beast of a game without mod and it looks fantastic and runs perfect.
name the file autoexec.cfg and place in the Crysis director (Electronics Art > Crytek > Crysis <)

Also with these settings enabled try playing Crysis with ATI's CFAA Wide Tent AA. It kills all jaggies in the game and makes the game look very unique
