Would you add a half second delay, on purpose, to your actions in Bayonetta? Or any other game for that matter, regardless of difficulty, just because you were too lazy to learn how to do it the better way? If so, sorry, handicap. Any kind of backwards logic going on here aint mine.
A wheelchair can still get you from point a to point b too.
But the rest, dumb logic.
Of course I refuse to accept that shit because its so freaking stupid.
Besides, why the fuck should I memorize the keybuttons on the keyboard on what powers do what when all I can do is hold one button and then see the visuals infront of me and pick in a second.
Atleast that way I dont make any misstakes of pressing the wrong buttons.
In RPGs and RTS I do agree with hotkeys being good, but this is Crysis we are talking about and its not a "must"...when it comes to radial menu.
But the rest, dumb logic.
You can get away with using the scroll wheel to change weapons too! But you don't. You know why? Because there is a better way to do it. Dumb logic indeed.
Learn where the freaking keys are, be better at games. Or don't, I don't care.
Learn where the freaking keys are, be better at games.
But it takes like a second or two to bring up the menu and then choosing the power you want...you honestly say thats the same thing? compared to scrolling the wheel.
And no, I am not forcing myself to learn the keys better unless they are crucial to me, radial menu is hardly crucial.
I played Crysis single player only and it was very easy to hide from the enemies and take my time.
That is hardly a game were you have to be lightning fast.
Learning where you keys are will help you in every game, and by denying that the radial menu is a handicap you're flat out denying that using the hot keys is better. Faster = better is not backwards logic.
But keep doing your thing. I give not a single shit. Trying to convince someone not to play games like a noob is not worth my time. I've made this point multiple times: Just because the game is easy enough to make it negligible, does not mean that doing things the long way isn't a handicap. And that's one big fat contradiction in terms if you think that using the scroll wheel is silly.. since you absolutely could "take your time" while changing weapons too.
In any given game that we chose to use the better faster options or not it will come down to skill?
If I dont chose to use the faster one I suck?I have no skills and by result you are better than me?
Is that it?
Real Madrid C.F. fan.
If you have to do things the long way because you're fumbling through buttons or keys or whatever and constantly hitting the wrong ones.. well then yeah.. you probably suck.
But I'm certain that everyone could learn where their keys are if they cared. And plenty of people don't care. More power to them. That's not really the point of any of this. I'm not even suggesting that anyone change their habits. That's your own prerogative.. but you can want the ease of use you find without denying that there is a better way to do it. You can not care and still not flat out deny that adding even the slightest of time to your actions is a handicap, even if it's mostly negligible.
The only games I had to use hotkeys has been games like Torchlight and such but in shooters, I havent used hotkeys at all and I have been doing just fine.
But yet you dont seem to grasp the concept of me not having any issues with it.
Hotkeys are faster if you want to be the "elite!", but using the radial menu is not a handicap considering it barely takes 2 seconds to pick and choose.
On another note: I played some Reach last night for the first time in quite a while.. and it made me realize just how much more care they've taken to make it gamepad friendly than something like Crysis 2.
I love how he uses the powers unlike other videos players can't do a damn thing LOL
I dont like is the melee in this one.
Its too fast with no delay and its a one hit kill, easy to take out multiple enemies in row.
Atleast CoD has a small delay when your knife hits the enemy, so you can't just bump enemies rapidly and kill them.
I also dont like it when you are shooting in full auto while using the scope, the weapon doesnt wobble around, doesnt look satistfying when shooting, no sense of firing feedback at all.
But when hipfiring it seems nice :)
The melee recovery in Crysis 2 is definitely no worse than it is in Call of Duty btw. Ballistic Knife + Steady Aim Pro is a thousand times more abusive than melee kills in this game could dream of. You absolutely can just "bump enemies" and rapidly kill them in Call of Duty. Just head into noobtown and literally get yourself a chopper gunner in a matter of seconds. On the other hand, that's before too many perks are applied to Crysis 2, we all know how deep that rabbit hole goes.
And Commando perk :(
The best melee system I seen in FPS is in Killzone 3, but there you have to be careful consdering the animation is a bit too long compared to Crysis 2 and CoD, so someone can kill you before you finish the animation...though its not all melee kills.
Though the melee kill you do is fast enough to get you the point but you might be unlucky and die right after it if someone sees you, but its quite rare. But atleast you can rampage it like in CoD or Crysis 2 which is fine.
But the thing is though that if you have seen some annoying glitch videos from Black Ops, you can see like a "launch knife attack" that looks like Commando, just annoying.
Here is one of many http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Orvnbhuc5yw
Not only cheap, but it looked like the tomahawk homed in on him there at the end. Shit...
Oooh, Profound, isn't it?
The share impact and how visceral it looks like is awesome, and it has various animations as well.
I am sticking with Killzone 3 having the best melee system in a FPS.
Oooh, Profound, isn't it?
Not only cheap, but it looked like the tomahawk homed in on him there at the end. Shit...
...and BLOPS was the fix.
Oooh, Profound, isn't it?
