The kotaku impression sort of reflects what i, more or less, expected from this game. I guess the game still has a way to go before it's compete and i shouldn't really write it off as crap yet but i'm not expecting much. Unfortunate as the game COULD have been pretty cool and original, if handled by the right people.

Either add the damn thing on disc or fuck off and don't come back until you guys have a good game and a TRUE worthy of a DLC that was so "important" to have a DLC...that we have to pay for.

Sath, it's inevitable, sadly. you know what, at least these guys have the guts to say out loud that a DLC is planned this early in the project (PR disaster mind you). Others would stay tight lipped and play stupid only to announce DLC after release claiming it has been developed after the game release to justify it. Either way, we have to live with it.

But there has been times were DLC announcement (not specific on what but announcement non the less) before the game is out.
They go with sayings like "DLC is planned".

Its up to them to release it on the same day or after, but saying days or weeks before the game is out is just nonsense, even when a game hasen't gone GOLD they could easily add it on the disc.

But with Dante's Inferno not coming until 2010, its VERY stupid to announce that DLC is coming.
There are alot of people out there that doesn't have access to internet through their consoles (one of my friends who study in Poland is a example of this).

But yeah, we have to live with it, but I am not bothered.
Make a great game with great content and bonuses on the disc, and think about DLCs later on.

Reward the fans of your game with extra contents on the disc and later on do a DLC depending on sales.

imo there's nothing wrong with planning DLC before the release of the game, i mean...that has to be the case with almost all games that have DLC. What bloody sucks is when you finish the DLC before the game ships or willfully exclude a part of the game just to make it DLC 2 weeks after release. I'll never have any problem with legit DLC, it's the bullshit that sucks.

June 1st for the full trailer and I hope they finally show gameplay footage.

I really love the concept and ideas for this game but if the combat isn't good whats the point of playing it.

Looks pretty cool for sure, very atmospheric. The combat is fluid and good as well, but there is something about the hitting that seems off at times.
But i will still keep it in my "interested" list for now.

I had a feeling that those screenshots released weren't doing the game's visuals any justice. Don't get me wrong, it isn't the best game you'll ever see by any stretch of the imagination, but the visuals are no longer an issue for me - I also agree that the game is looking very atmospheric, which is one of the main things I look for in games.

The hitting seemed a bit off to me as well, but the combat was pretty fluid. Not sure I like how frickin' massive the scythe is though... it almost looks comical.

Looks amazing,this game is on my radar again I agree those screens a while back turned me off but that changed now,the hitting thing I think is a little off too but they have time still and considering the leap from the last time we saw it Im sure that will be fixed,anything else its just insane since those huge bosses to the combat that looks crazy good.

that Scythe have a lot of variants if you see there was a few different forms of it and it extends to reach certain parts of the enviroment,I say this is looking promising and a serious competitor to the big guns in the genre.

I watched the GTTV show with real gameplay footage camera combat work and it looks MUCH better than what the trailer showed.
I recommend you guys checking the GTTV episode out and not judge the "hitting" by the trailer like I did, I was proven wrong.

I hope GT uploads those gameplay scenes seperatly so I can check those out.

Yes i saw it and everything looks better in those small clips of gameplay,Im must say Im now pretty pumped for this game,the frikin combat looks amazing.

Calling this or that game a ripoff is just bullshit. Every other third person action game revolving around melee combat is called a GoW clone. GoW didn't invent the genre you know, not that that is relevant in any sense.

It looks alright, though i think i'll have to see more of it than just some qte sequences. Also this image of hell just isn't really compatible with mine, i've always imagined hell as way more claustrophobic and fleshy :)

Very little else is compatible with Dante's inferno, unless i missed the part where he kills satan with Death's scythe, so i don't see why that's a big deal. And i never said i wanted it changed, i was just saying ;)

Well the diference with GoW here is that in GoW you are in Greek Mithology and in Dante's Inferno you are in Hell.

Whats more awesome?

I dont know about you but fighting trough hell sounds more badass that the other IMO.

I was comparing it to GoW cause its the most well known and successful 3rd person action game and it has its own styling to it. GoW has "small" characters in terms of scale of the action on the screen and often encounters ginourmous bosses with QTE events. This seems very much to be the exact same mould with a reskin, not that its nescessarily a bad thing, but you can see the similarities and even in the art direction aswell it doesnt stray too far.
It seems to have high production values aswell, but is sorely lacking any kind of impact when attacking (blood splatters, dismemberment etc) which is very apparent for a game of this nature and setting.

At least EA are trying to copy something they havent copied before.
