I dont mind long RPGs, but for me, if the combat is decent I dont want super long.
If the combat is fun and exciting (like Dragon Age 2 in comparison to DA O) then I dont mind long RPGs!

That’s because you not a real fan of traditional RPG's, as tactics/strategies plus pause and play combat with plenty of side quest and a lengthy campaign is what’s it all about, i was so glad when Mike said to play DA.2 on the harder difficulties you have to be a tactician and pause and play using all your parties strengths and abilities also constantly tweak the strategies whilst in combat in order to survive, i'll be playing on Hard for sure.

Exactly, I am no fan, I have said it too many times to count them.
Never was, never will.

Dragon Age was semi real time and Dragon Age 2 is going to be the same, but much faster and cooler combat, but same concept.

But other than that, its all real time for me such as Skyrim, Dungeon Siege 3, Mass Effect...etc.
I like fast and badass combat, want to be in control of my character as much as possible :)

But its all good, if Skyrim turns out great, I will be super happy :)

While I think DA:O combat was dull and may by the 35 hour get a little boring it only missed some nice stuff, like better animations and why not a choice to play it almost real time all the time too, and in DA2 we will have that option and for that it will be for us way better than DA:O.

I like DA:O Im playing it and I dont play games I dont like, everything in the game is top notch in terms of RPG, loot is on the poor side though, the best weapon in the game for a Rogue I bought it and not found it even if Im a rogue that can open everything.

IM just very happy that we will have a more visceral, more cool animated combat in this sequel, and that for me is awesome, we haev to be honest here, DAO combat is a little archaic, Divinity 2 Dragon Knight Saga is a RPG too and maybe be a little longer and harder and it has way better combat, so I dont se nothing wrong with Bioware in ramp it up a bit.

How? Combat hasn't changed at all has it (with the exception of more stylish animations)? It still plays out the same in principle doesn't it?

Yes.
Only how you upgrade your character class is different this time.

Yes exactly but my reasoning is that in this sequel combat actually "is" awesome so playing it without pausing it every 15 seconds is a valid option and will be lots of fun and you will feel like a badass(that Rogue vids ZOMG), hell I do that in DA:O, but again combat is dull as hell and I get bored after a while, you just gotta know your tactics not just the commands you can make, I messed with all my party members tactics so they can do exactly what I want when I want without pausing and with this newer cooler combat I will be enjoy it a lot more, playing almost like Divinity 2 TDKS, pure direct real time combat.

Let's say they are gaining more fans instead of losing, pause and play is still there exactly like DA:O but now there is some badass animations and stuff that action more direct fans like me and Sath can enjoy it aswell, and I think there is a lot of gamers out there that will buy it too because of that, Bioware are doing the right decisions so far IMO.

You will only be able to play that way on the Normal level, as the harder levels you will have to pause scope the situation and re-evaluate your squads tactics and commands continually.

I played Casual in DA Origins LOL
I still had to use some pause and play, mostly on those damn dragons and ogres LOL.

Good thing was that there was no difficulty trophies so I didnt care.
I will probably do the same for DA2 as well. I want as real time as possible, and fun!

But combat is exactly the same, with the exception of these new - admittedly pretty cool - animations. If you found the fundamentals of DA:O's combat to be dull, then I don't see how the sequel is going to change your mind; you couldn't pause and issue commands on the console versions of the first game, and this is going to be no different.

It's more action-oriented, yes, but it still plays out like a classic RPG.

Difference is that you will be not looking at the exact dull animation for 60 hours and that is a huge difference to me, yes it plays the same, and no I don't have a problem with that, here Hawke moves like a freaking Ninja if you are a Rogue so for me thats an amazing thing and it will not get boring after a while making it easy for me to do various playthroughs not just one.

I guess it will be exactly as ME2 for me, I loved to do various runs in it, I even finish it in Insanity while ME I cant do it, performance and dull stuff gets boring to me, Im not saying to everybody for me yes, animations and what I see of my character do is a very important part of my enjoyment of a game.

It will be classic RPG but at least it will be a badass looking animations wise classic RPG, everyone should feel happy, I don't see why the negatives.

I just think you have unrealistic expectations with how it will play out. But that's just me.

Yep, i was pausing and lining up my squads commands and who they should target all the time, i think the only diff with the pc is that it had a top down view of the battle and you could zoom in and out to get a better view of what was going on.

I'm constantly checking two girls that work under me about their intonation in speech when talking with clients on the phone. If they want to be taken seriously they have to learn to control the rhythm and pitch of their voices because it's almost like their singing the words instead of speaking them. A client recently burst out laughing while he was talking with one of them, he said even though the girl seemed very knowledgeable, he just couldn't get past her voice. I ended up having to take over the call. lol.

Third image, yeah!

Can't wait until next week, I love everything I seen so far, only thing remaining is the customization.
I hope they have added and removed alot of things and not pulling a Mass Effect on us, they didnt do a damn thing about the ugly plastic hairstyles and boring stubbles.
