all that talk of language and big boss barely says a word...

seems just as dialogue heavy though based on the trailer. just not in regards to the protagonist...which kinda sucks.

Solid Snake saw Grey Fox's face in MGS, I don't think Snake won't recognize him if he's Big Boss, they met in MG and MG2. Also, Big Boss actually showed up in MGS4, but Grey Fox died in MGS, not a chance he'll survive Rex's smash.

It's amazing to see how game's themes all come together. "Words that kill." Quiet unable to speak. Codetalker's name. Skullface forgetting his mother tongue. Keifer replacing Hayter's voice. Informational blockade of KojiPro by Konami. This trailer's track being instrumental.

What in 7 hells are you going on about? Kojima directed and edited this video. He also picked the song: "Elegia by New Order, which is currently #3 on Japan's top 100 music charts!

Also, everytime the title has been revealed in the trailers, you hear morse-code in the BG. This is seriously impressive as hell. I can't believe this game didn't get more attention at E3, it's so close to launch and is shaping up to look like a masterpiece!

Just out of interest. Where can you follow the japanese charts? I cannot seem to find the list where Elegia was on #3.

This video behaves in an unusual way.

After comparing it with the version uploaded on the official YouTube channel, it turns out that all CG scenes appear washed out, with lifted blacks and noticeably reduced contrast — a clear sign that they were encoded or interpreted using Limited Range (16–235) instead of Full Range.

The only exceptions are the Ground Zeroes boss scene and Miller boarding the helicopter, which match the official upload correctly.

Interestingly, other elements such as the producer credits, game title, and promotional text screens are also consistent with the official version, meaning that this video mixes Limited Range and Full Range material within the same file, which is obviously incorrect.

For this reason, all affected segments have been isolated and their levels expanded from 16–235 back to 0–255, restoring the intended Full Range presentation.

For archival purists: although the encoding parameters are kept consistent with the source, this is still a re-encode. Moreover, any conversion from 0–255 to 16–235 inevitably causes some loss of color information, which cannot be fully recovered even with a correct range expansion.
