The problem with FM3 is for a casual racer who plays solely for a quick bit of fun, a couple of laps and i switch it off, it becomes very impenatrable, moreso than any other racer. The rewards for the short races are non existant, and i become very bored and lose concentration after doing the 10th lap on the same course, also hiring a driver results in a much lower reward, so there is no way to gather cash but to grind it out in the most monotonous repetative way. They talk about making it more accessable for car lovers, but i'd argue they made it less so, everything costs so much more and you earn so much less, thats why I stopped playing it, that and more stuff came out, but I don't want a game I have to grind for weeks to get a decent car, even MMO's aren't that cruel. It's a shame they removed the cheat / punished for it so harshly as I damn sure would have used it and got some use out of the game.

Yea, I had heard things about GT5 being pretty grind heavy which is part of the reason i've been so reluctant, that and it's been holding it's price around the £40 mark.

Also Jin, why do I have to be kidding, I have a very short attention span when it comes to games and even shorter when I seem to be repeating the same task over and over again. Also, I have dozens of games to play, I think FM3 was cut short from when I got it by ME2, In the week or two I played it I never got close to having a single cool car, nevermind all the cars I wanted to mess around with. And after having grinded in FM2 I was even more reluctant to grind harder in FM3. GT3 / 4 were much easier to get into as I said, i could hire the computer to race for me and forget about it, go do something else. I could run super charged cars against minnows and get the race win cash in a minute instead of having 10 lap races, so the economics of time and money are no better than running a shit car round a shorter course over and over.

As for the trailer, my original point was that T10 have used game assets in fake trailers before to get our joices going, and when they were asked at the time that trailer was released they said it was all ingame, I remember people giffing the hell out of the cockpit cam sections especially as the first version we saw wasnt a direct 720p vid but an off screen cam at E3. It's obviously pre-rendered, but they still put it out there and made the claim. Whats to say everything in the leaked trailer isn't doctored aswell?

Well I'm a huge fan of the sim racer genre and even I get tired of the 10+ lap races often. GT5 can be too grind heavy as well. I thought forza has always done a great job of pricing things just right so that you can buy a lot of fun cars quickly but not so easily that you lose your appreciation for getting those cars.

I don't expect forza 4's graphics to be all that much better than 3, probably just better lighting and some improved textures and such on some car models. I LOVED the track designs in Forza 3, the mountain views were great as well as the italy stuff.

More fantasy tracks in amazing/beautiful locations would be more than welcome IMO. I don't mind a long race as much if I have a nice view. It's 10 laps looking at nothing but sand that gets old, for me at least.

I would also like a little more body customization options. I don't care much about lambos and such, but putting body kits and such on the 4 bangers is a bit more fun, if anything b/c it's more realistic to be modifying those cars. Not a lot of body kits on Corvettes after all lol...

Car is awful, but the graphics are badass....

it's not awful. It handles perfectly on a bike path/golf course.

And the blood stains are removed quite easily with the included Handy Wipes.

I mean, the blood stains from your own head wounds from driving the thing (on a sidewalk/golf course).

That's the leaked trailer there, and the kinect gameplay.........uh I guess, didn't much of anything there. Some downgraded physics to work with kinect, that's all. It's a shame they are pushing it so hard though. Fuck kinect, show me the good stuff. If they don't show what makes this Forza........Forza, and instead they focus on kinect I'm going to be pissed.

Agreed, theres no way they could build 500 cars with that level of detail, these cars have twice the poly count of GT5's premium models! It would probably take 6 years to build 500 cars with this level of detail.

However, It has been confirmed that these wonderful, phenomenal, incredible, astounding levels of detail wont make it to all the cars (On the interior), but to be honest, i never expected it to.

Yup, oh well. These cars are being built with next gen in mind though. And I like where this is heading to. These are future proof, at least for next gen. Imagine seeing these things during gameplay next gen? Now that's going to be something.

With that said, I'm still hoping there's a decent improvement during actual gameplay. We know environments are going to rock, there's going to be 16 cars on track, but will they have faked/tinted windows to hide a lack of interior? Let's hope not, otherwise I'll be disappointed.

By the way, the official site mentions "alternate time of day lets you experience previous Forza tracks in a completely new way".........whatever that really means.

Awesome vid, looks stunning (no more blacked out windows yay !!). Also, he talked about swapping out time of day lighting and it being no problem....doesn't nescessarily mean night racing or anything though.

Any info on how the online MP is handled in FM4? Because the hopper system introduced in FM3 was a major gamebreaker for me (and looking at the very poor playernumbers online in FM3 I wasn't the only one).. It took so much fun out of the game for me I eventually stopped playing the game.. All I want is to be able to host and join custom public lobbies so I can race certain cars on cretain tracks I want, for example race Mini's only on a some cool mountain track.. I don't want that crap very limited hopper system like in FM3.. If FM4 still uses that same restriced hooper system I will pass on it, no matter how tempting the rest of the game is to me.. And it is tempting (especially the cool garages and Top Gear stuff etc).. So plz plz plz let them go back to the old public custom lobby system.. If they do, I'll buy for sure..
