- PGR3 and 4 run at a pathetic 30FPS. Forza 2 runs at twice the framerate, 60FPS!
- Forza 2 has more than twice the cars of either PGR, with 310 cars.
- Forza 2 has precise, accurate steering for each car. PGR3 had shit steering.
- Forza 2 has incredibly advanced AI. PGR3 and probably 4 have primitive AI.
- Forza 2 has car damage modeling. PGR3 and 4 have none at all!
- Forza 2 has advanced physics that run at 360 FPS! PGR3 and 4 virtually have no physics.
- Forza 2 has real life tracks. PGR 3 and 4 have showier city tracks.
- Forza 2 has a greater sense of speed.
Forza 2 is doing infinitely more than PGR ever did. Considering how little PGR3 did, it better look killer. The fact that it ran at a measly 30FPS and rendered at 600P was downright criminal. There's no doubt that Forza 2 will be the superior game. PGR4 will be PGR3 slightly update graphics and weather effects which will have no impact on gameplay. Forza 2 looks great. Anyone saying otherwise needs their eyes checked. Just a few pics from NeoGAF!
So spare us the PGR3 and PGR4 talk. PGR4 will look better but considering it's at 30FPS and basically doing nothing in the game, it better.
wha-wha-wee-wha, what is this?

what a lack of repect!
But that's is the photomode!
But I am tired of the physics excuse.
Based on previous experience, previous games, the "because of the great physics, graphics are not as good as those found in x game." is very sad excuse with nothing to really back it up.
Could someone bother to explain how on earth was it possible for:
GT4 to be the best looking racing game on PS2 by a HUGE margin, and still have admittedly the best physics on PS2 also by a huge margin. Those of you throwing that line, could you please care to explain?
Forza 1 vs the ~arcade racers on Xbox, how was that possible? Where are those who said Forza 1 was the best looking racing game on Xbox?
How about Test Drive Le-Mans and Ferrari 355 on Dreamcast? How come they managed to still have the best graphics on the platform?
And oh boy, I could go on to past generations and name others like the GT's on PS, but the truth is that is simply a misconception fueled by PR.

BTW, Forza 2 looks better than Forza 2 in those off-screen shots, was I the only one who noticed that?

Marumaro for the WIN !!
Other than that, you might want to watch 27 seconds into the trailer, and then try to explain the massive differences.
Obviously work in progress and all, but the lightening is way off in that trailer.
Not guna even compare it to Forza 2 though as the 2 games are doing things totally different.
Marumaro for the WIN !!
On a serious note, people need to quit with all these endless pointless comparisons of which game takes better pictures, the bottom line is Forza Motorsport 2 THE BEST RACER EVER and for that simple reason, JUST ENJOY IT!
Who cares if they didnt do all the things they said graphically ("SAID" no one promised anything) its the best looking Racer out there so please everyone, quit crying over things that no longer matter and grow up, its here and its amazing.

By the way, if the offsceen shots don't convince anyone how great the game looks, just go look at the video on gamevideos or look at blims new 720p video. Or hell, play the actual demo. The game looks great, regardless of whether PGR4 will look better. I'm sure it will, for all of the reasons I listed above. Considering all it's doing, FM2 has no business looking as good as it does. If Bizarre wants to impress, they'll have to at least get their framerate up to 60FPS.

Personally.. I think it looks pretty decent. But Lebato is sorta right.. they really dropped the ball with the visual component of the game. And personally I don't see what the big deal is.. why shouldn't/wouldn't people be critical? This game deserves to be picked apart (the graphics that is) just as much as something like Motorstorm!
Now is gameplay more important? Hell yeah! And that's why you see pretty much everyone praising this demo. Even those people who are otherwise critical of what they see.
Seems like you can't comment on any one issue without everyone assuming that you're writing off the game completely -- and you're only allowed to be a fan if you're happy with everything you see.
I just wasn't impressed that's all.

The number of cars does not affect graphics quality, explain to me GT4's case. The "real tracks vs. cities" excuse is out of this world, it's not even laughable, how is that relevant at all? Wow. Steering, tuning? Haha, come on, are we comparing graphics or the game? And since those two things fall into physics, I get a feeling you are just simply repeating yourself and trying to make the list bigger than it should/can be.
The AI is better in FM2 than in PGR3, yes, quite a bit. But I guess I could say the motion blur in PGR3 is much better than that of FM2..........which has none. Now I suppose you are going to prove me AI is way more taxing on the system than it is motion blur. Anyways........
etc etc
Anyway i agree pretty much on everything except graphics ye there not the best there no PGR 3 (some people saying on par maybe) but what you got to remember is more cars on track plus PGR 3 runs at 30fps so your getting more effects. I dont want to sound like a Forza ass licker im not at all but get a car and drive slowly round the track backwards if you must and look at the details i think its pretty superb actually. Admittedly i was like you at first saying not great graphics but they gelled on me and certainly next gen by a long way.
The sound is incredible my god the sound of F430 and Gallardo i stopped on the Start/Finish line and listened to the Gallardo go past i think i feinted i could still hear it going into first corner. Would you agree that this is certainly the best sound i can think of in a 360 racing game at least Test Drive and PGR 3 are good but nowhere near this. ?
The physics are superb also you get a sense of feel of different handling from every car go from a F430 to a Mustang and you certainly notice. The telemotery is pretty neat also i decided to do burnout only for my tires to hit 150 degrees hehe certainly a ton of work gone into that. Damage is superb also even if its is locked to cosmetic in demo think about full game and destroying your car.
Cant wait for the full game doing the career and all the customisation etc buying cars doing them up and putting ludicrously big engines in small cars and racing Enzos. :) This game has so much more then this demo is not even showing there still more tracks to play and hell of alot more to do 70+ hour career the demonstration and what ive read on career i just cant wait any longer.
Oops nearly forgot about Ai its well easy but abit of a challenge at first when you start off but when your in first your pretty much always there if not for a mistake. But hang on this is a demo your not getting all the features im pretty sure this will be adjustable surely AI difficulity. ?

For some reason it come into my head about local multiplayer aspect of PGR 3 where could only add 2 more cars meaning 4 altogether and i posted by mistake forgetting singeplayer actually 8 take that back.
Saying that what is the local multiplayer like in Forza 2 anyone know havnt seen much hope it just not race your friend and thats it. ?

As for number of cars, give me a break. It's called more geometry genius.
LOL! Only you would think things like physics and car damage would have no effect on graphics.
As for real tracks versus cities, that's an easy one. Too bad you weren't smart enough to realize it. But real race tracks are not the most exciting thing to look at. Massive cities are much showier and much more interesting to look at from a graphical standpoint. So of course there's a difference genius. But I guess Turn 10 could have changed their game a made a bunch of imaginary tracks through cities to make it more visually appealing for you. I guess you can play the Times Square track over and over again.
Sheesh! LOL! Don't even get me started on PGR3 being rendered at 600p and upscaled, instead of being rendered in native 720p like the rest of the 360 games. Of course Turn 10 could have also rendered their game at 600p, used 30FPS to satisfy graphics whores like yourself.
As for the motion blur comment, Bizarre did that to mimic 60FPS, because they were too lame to actually get their game up to that framerate.
You have convinced me sir, I was so dense I couldn't see past the tricks employed by Bizarre and their shoddy 30fps compared to the all-mighty 60fps standard. I now also believe Forza 2 is the best looking racing game of all time. I AGREE, shall we dance?
PS. Such valuable information should not be seen by anyone else, we should hide it. I'm sending a boulet request..........
