It's definitly the poly count that does make GT5P/Forza 3 cars looks more real than Forza 2 cars. Forza 3 pictures prove you wrong ;)
Prepare To Drop!!
Prepare To Drop!!
neener
Only GT5 does realtime.
Every stupid men sees the flaws of the GT5P video.
PS. Whoever said this topic would never be as bad as the original Forza 2 topic, well, told ya so.

Where as before it was an embarrassment
and laugh my ass off at spell check telling me I spelled "Forza" wrong
screw you spell check!
First is that in the lack of white spotted artifacting, especially along geometric seams, that were so common in FM2. This added *substantial* noise and was a failture of the FM2 lighting system, specifically their HDR implimentation. Another issue with the FM2 lighting engine was the range of their "HDR" which was pretty poor and washed out/overbright. The lighting system in general was oversaturated. Prebaked shadows are also a lot better in FM3, which is one of the reasons the world looks better. Everything looks more solid and grounded because there is much more detail in the shadows. It doesn't hurt that FM3 is applying what appears to be some AF (with bilinear filtering?) One of the BIG upgrades to FM3 is they are also doing higher resolution reflections with more frequent updates. FM2's reflections, e.g. on the hood, were not full resolution and they were probably ~15fps as they were exceedingly choppy as well as lagged.
FM2's lighting was pretty poor, as was the general rendering engine. Having played a lot of FM2 (and NOT just looking at online photomode shots) it is readily appearant that FM3 is a big boost in most areas. Yes, the higher poly count, cleaned up shaders (especially on the paint), and color-rebalancing really helped, but per the cars how they were doing lighting and reflections is where a substantial part of the improvements come from.

The bring home to your momma analogy is awesome though haha. No more quickly throwing the sheets over the HDTV when company comes over.

Forza 3 looks better, EVERYTHING looks better.
GT5 cars look better, they just do, but then again once i have the games side by side ill write more on that, and see exactly whats what.
For now, this is becoming more and more like the F2 thread, altho i dont think it can get as bad as that thread,... but then again some ppl are beant on breaking records, even the less noble ones ;)
When all think alike, no one is thinking very much.
All in all, I've said pretty much all I'll say on the comparisons between the 2 threads and will now await more awesome media or information from Forza 3 :)

Take a look at these picture:
So you must think this leafs must be over oversaturated? Maybe you should file a complaint against nature.
Again, oversaturated:
Again:
And don't forget that these white artifacts are just a constraint of cameras that aren't HDR capable (so in rea intensitiy would be even higher).
Check out this HDRI photograph, obviously this is what the human eye sees in nature!
