I'd say it's there with U2.
In terms of the models of at least the main characters, I'd easily give GoW3 the nod over U2. Don't get me wrong, I think U2 is absolutely fantastic looking, but it's character models weren't mind-blowing or anything. Fighting games aside, I'd place Kratos up there with Chris or Sheva from RE5.

Sex mini games is a stupid thing to add in the game, even more stupid when Hayashi announced boob-axis for NGS2.

Good thing we can agree on this. There is a certain "limit" to what can be taken serious in game, and this is just ridiculous.

Yes, I would agree to this to a sense, I see it as absurd when I saw it in Fable for 'the sake of realism' and even gay couples were going for it.... then the Mass Effect inter-species sex tone seemed totally absurd, and it even did lesbo-alien ones too, so was it pointless in dragon-age origins...

but, to some extent, I warrant it in gow series for it represents the animalistic nature of the main character and a true outlook of the pre-recorded times it represents, the sex carnal thing is sooo enriched in this mythology, that a representation of it without such a nuance makes its intensity a bit lessened, but yeah, to any other cause, an inclusion of such an act would seem a developer's desperate attempt at attracting masses i.e. conan and ngs2 !

Anyhow, the truly unique performance that I've ever seen and that feels totally natural is the one as in Heavy Rain, no competitipon to this one, not at all !

So fairly tastefully done sex that requires some minor relationship building is absurd, but it's warranted in GoW simply because it's Greek mythology?

Now [i[that seems absurd.

gow series stands out in 'do it anywhere' 'anyhow, any mean possible' tendency more than any other genre allows, be it sex, violence or good/evil battle... thats what anti-heroes are image of and gow makes the most badass one. So yeah it totally captures its frantic, fast and animalistic characteristics as well, thats what I've written above!

gow is more like 300 depiction of Greek/Sparta or the pre-history Hyborian Sword & Sorcery... less focus on civilization and more on chaotic(murder, war, conquest, deception) elements. But yeah, any depiction like Clash of the Titans where civilization is more modelled and monstrosities are added later, a rushing, lusty sex would certainly seem absurd and yeah its absurd all otherwise than these ;)

Anyway, folks you've all known of that PSM3 review where gow3 got 100/100 right. Well on the first page, there is that real upclose image of Zeus vs Kratos scene and my God its unbelievable. Scans are not allowed here and I hope they release those screens soon but damn you have got t o see this.
Only a split second scene from the trailer had many believe its pre-rendered and knowing its ingame was astonishing but the clear front-side of Zeus' CGish model even has Kratos' model look like a low-poly one! Do get the mag or see it online somewhere, it'll gives you Moose(not goose)bumps ;)

Sorry, I was not rude with you Sath but yeah I would believe otherwise and totally do not believe that in character development, there is any other protagonist that features more badass anti-heroic record than Kratos(killing his own mother, snuffing innocents, destroying titans and gods single-handedly, defying death and afterlife and all with an intact attitude)...
So, yeah, this planet at least thinks him the one, moreover, other characters hardly cross another city in their dominions, let alone worlds/realms or lives...

I think Kratos is a poorly written character with some of the worst one-liners in games. Which is quite an achievement if you think how bad writing is in games in general. I love GoW games despite the main character though, I wish I had a PS3 to play GoW3.

Says weirdo :P

Just because he yells alot and does some brutal kills all thx for his god powers given to him by him begging for it, hardly makes him a badass.
Sorry, he is not badass at all, samething goes to Dante from Dante's Inferno.

And yes, I DO think Ryu is more badass, probably the most badass one considering all his moves is through his years of training and not because someone gave him powers or begged for it.

I actually don't get that vibe from GoW at all. I enjoy the series, and GoW3 is going to be the first PS3 game that I'm desperately looking forward to, but they've never made me feel like there was any kind of deep, animalistic undertones; it always just seemed pretty straightforward in the simplest of terms.
