I heard only audio to gametrailers review (with skipping the story part), but accidentally I watched for a second exactly the same moment from the announcement teaser - Master Chief watching the opening Arc with Arbiter and other guys - and dare I say it looked even better :O

According to gametrailers flamethrower is useless.:( Too bad, I like set people in flames.

Rubbish, they must suck. It's a very effective weapon, especially later on. Not only can you inflame enemies but you can also create a wall of fire to block them off.

You only suck with the flamethrower if you run after the flames and into them, which is probably what they did!

Ok, played through the first mission on Legendary with scoring on. Took me 49mins and I got 12400. You lose 100 points each time you die though I only died 9 times.

Seems like you'll need the skulls to break 15000. I've only found one, much later in the game.

Is this site taken into account by gamerankings? Now I want Halo 3 to be a prestigious title to get into all-time top 10 like Halo 1 did. :)

probably the most accurate review I've read... pity its an 8.8 and not a 9.0 They see halo3 without rose colored glasses. See how many review sites gave halo2 such spectacular reviews, then after the new has worn off, start looking for flaws & slowly pick it apart for not "finishing the fight" and how it was a rushed attempt.

I have no doubt it will be one of the best 360 experiences out there and have the widest appeal of any 360 title, but its interesting to see its flaws and shortcomings brought up.

Good stuff so far though, I'm proud of Bungies effort on Halo3, but I'm not going to give them a free pass, just because its another Halo.

Oh, and I just heard on the gametrailers review, that Halo3 only has 11 maps... they deserve to loose a half point for that alone. You're telling me 3 years in development and we only get 11 maps. Oh I'm sure MS has plans to nickel and dime us in an unprecedented way with Halo3 DLC.

the thing is, i think they all learnt this time.
because alot of people called them biased after the halo 2 review
edit(talking about all the reivews in general )

so i think this year they have all learnt there lesson
hense TXB giving it a lower score then halo 2 got
i think the scores are truthful this time around
i'll soon find out anyway :)

also proof in that the ign uk said in the first sentence that the single player due to the incredible hype was dissapointing, which wasnt said about halo 2. and from what ive heard,seen and read, halo 3 is alot better in campaign then halo 2...

I think hits on length, AI, some on graphics, and Halo "refined" are all really legit. Fans will ignore these complaints, but they are there. But what Halo does good, they pretty much go where noone else was or is and does them well.

Taking the feedback from gamers I trust who have played it, the SP appears very good (but not perfect). You add in the best "Quake-Clone" MP (for lack of a better term of MP with weapons spawning in fields) on the market with a ton of variants and gameplay variants and toss in social elements (Coop, Forge, Theater) I just don't see how it cannot be ranked in the top tier of games.

Gamer tastes vary (I really don't like, or dislike, Halo's gameplay mechanics... hohum imo) but in terms of package I am pretty impressed with what Bungie has done.

Halo is far more ambitious as a package than Gears, GRAW, or Rainbow Six. I think all three of those have some valid arguements in the gameplay departments (they evolved and use technology well to create a deeper, more evolutionary dynamic instead of minor tweaks to an aging paradigm that was created to answer problems in older systems and eras) and all ship with really good MP. But as a package Halo 3 really does throw the smack down.

Forge/Theater are going to change gaming.

I agree with everything you stated... and I know for most clans the Forge isn't going to change things that much, generally clan/competitive organized play you deal with the toolset given you, unaltered maps, etc. I think it is a great tool, and most people probably never played halo2 on any competitive ladders, but customization just isn't done in ladder sanctioned clan matches. For the majority of players I think this will add tons of life to an already deep multiplayer. The replay theater... big impact probably could turn gaming on its head. I think as much as I wanted to see 360 games have Halo2 features, and we are just now slowly started to see it (party system, COD4, Shadowrun) people will be complaining (myself included) that games don't have the stats tracking/party/forge/customizaton/replay saves that Halo3 has. Forge for clans... unless it becomes standardized fare from team compete/game battles/digital combat... clans won't be using it in a competitive setting, only to mess around on. But it is another must have feature that players will want/yearn for that Bungie has added in the feature toolset.

Regarding that review by G2.0, they bring what SEEM to be valid points, and other very factual points, such as the graphics. But it's kind of hard to believe these guys when well........they criticize the music rather harshly when it gets praise from everywhere else, and really, it's hard to believe they messed up with music, Marty wouldn't fail us.

That said, I think any site giving the graphics more than a 9 is overrating the game in that department, there's just no way, and believe me, I really really like the art in this game. I haven't played it? Yeah, you are right, but I've seen enough to say this with all confidence.

Oh well, no big deal really. I'm just happy the game is great overall and the ending is satifying :D
