You don't have that much ammo so you have to pick up the covenant weapons, sometimes you have to do it on the fly while you're fighting. It can get very intense especially since the pistol works great with a lot of different combos, that's why I never ditched it.
Also played some firefight alone. Just went through the first stage and it was quite a challenge. It's actually better than I could imagine, it basically is the action of the campaign ten fold and non stop. You can pull out some great plays, and you need to since killing the enemy as fast as possible is top priority... they'll overwhelm you otherwise. I kinda was surprised when the last wave dropped a large group of Brutes + 2 Chieftains on top of my head. I have to get some buddies together and play with them... :)

I thought the SP was great... The music is just top notch (just like the sound effects) and the whole lone ODST searching for his buddies is just done perfectly!
The flashback missions are fantastic especially because they change up the pace from the night "mission"
Great game!

I played on some of the new MP maps already and imo the citadel is the best map Bungie ever put out. The Mythic playlist is crowded with lvl 50s and I had some of the most enjoyable matches already.
