I think we are jumping the gun quite a bit on just a single picture.

Personally I think it looks fine. We should wait to see how it all comes together in motion before we make assumptions.
Thank you for bringing a little bit of sanity to this. Jeez, im reading comments like "laughs at Sony fanboys" we all knew it wouldnt look exactly like the trailer, but the trailer was impressive because of all the things going on at once. This is ONE static picture.....

With Motorstorm they really did manage to capture the intensity and overall feel of the trailer...
What!? I mean, i've not played the game, but none of the actual gameplay vids i've seen are anywhere near as exciting as the trailer. The game seemed... sedate in comparison to that.

TBH, I don't understand why people can bash the halo 3 pic and then drool all over this. This pic just looks bad. Maybe its just the compression, but its blurry, the lighting is all messed up, the shadows suck and the dude looks like he's a carboard cut-out (on the lower res version). Just looking at the pics INDIGO posted, Condemned blows KZ2 away gfx wise.

But, thats my judgement on this pic. Hopefully KZ2 will have some nice big outdoor environments.

I'll wait for some nice long gameplay videos (GYSDE first 10 minutes?) for my judgement on the game.

Well if you haven't played the game then you can't honestly expect to know how intense it feels, can you?

Online, especially on Dirt Devil or one of the muddier tracks with a narrow way for the trucks, it's insane. The only game that comes close in sheer insanity is Flatout: Ultimate Carnage, and even that is pretty mild compared.

I wish I had the equipment to capture a clip of it, but I don't. :(

Fair enough, but videos usually show at least some of how it feels, i've not seen anything like the trailer (experience wise) from gameplay.

Hey, if we are gonna rip 1 static picture of Halo 3 with MC's ugly mug you cannot expect much better for KZ :P The key is people giving thoughtful comments without flaming or trolling... which mods are now getting their shoot first ask questions later E3 guns out. So when peeps annoy, don't worry, they may not last long :|

As for the shot, I already posted my thoughts. Technically underwhealming from a rendering perspective. But the game never was going to live up in this area so hopefully the gameplay is absolutely revolutionary. I could live with that.

^Yeah, tbh, this place is alot more sane than the IGN boards, i cant imagine the chaos happening over there. I just really want the game to do well, and im not ready to condemn it over one pic, especially if its from an early build. I see your point about initial Halo 3 bashing, I was tempted to bring it up, but decided against it.

Gameplay videos will never look as intense as cinematic trailers with very dramatic and dynamic camera positions, simply because camera is static. However, Motorstorm really is intense when you play it, because it's fast and it's hard to stay on track and try to be first at the same time.

WTF, what are they thinking releasing that screenshot? Certainly they have to have better ones, if they dont then shit will really hit the fan... Well, it will be interesting to see the video and I still got hope that the game will deliver a solid experience gameplay and graphicswise! BUt its ceartinly slimmer then it was yesterday...

More than that.. I mean, at least 60% of games actually are average. :)

I think average is Lebato being nice, I think it looks pretty bad really.. hopefully it'll look better when we see some more.

I never expected much out of Killzone 2. But I think it should look at least as good as Resistance: Fall of Man, and so far, I can't say that it does.
