So you are saying that you can run as hell in deep snow? Holy shit, didnt know that. Gonna travel to the Antarctica and run fast in deep snow and try not to freeze to death.

Now to a serious thing...every movement in LP is realistic. The falling, running, dodging, jumping and ground shakes and he moves wierdly like he lost his balance.
You judging the game base on how slow he runs is stupid.

i point out a minor problem i have with the game and u call me stupid(whatever happend to having an opinion). i know u can't run fast in snow but his movement are also a bit slow. didn't ask for sonic speeds. but they should atleast be transition of movement speeds when he's on different sufaces.

and certainly wasn't judging the game. learn to comprehend next time

Well I guess where it gets funky is when people claim realistic = somehow better than fun. If people say running slowly in Lost Planet is bad, I hardly think that's because they reckon it's not realistic - I assume they mean they find it sluggish and annoying.

That said, I'm not here to slag off the game. On the contrary, I thought the demo was fantastic even though the levels were hardly of a quality I'd like to spend a whole game wading through, especially that cave thingy with the flying thingies. Regardless, I thought the controls were very, very interesting, and I loved the 90 degree turns and the Panzer Dragoon style aim. I thought it had excellent sense of weight and cumbersome movement that gave it intensity and credibility, and I couldn't even imagine it NOT turning into an awesome game seeing as the demo came out a little less than a year ago. (right?)

The only thing I can say for sure is that it's a damn shame, a far greater shame than Mass Effect or.. I dunno.. Too Human turning out disappointing, if this indeed does. I think this is a brilliant example of something brand new coming out of Japan when they marry console performance and western influences with their own mecha-fetish and generally - to me at least - more likeable presentation. I think the success of Lost Planet could mean a great deal more in the long run than simply another pretend exclusive Resident Evil or some such. In terms of what we see from Capcom primarily, but also for japanese devs in general.

I can't believe people are complaining about the movement/aiming, they are as standard as it gets IMO.

The reason I've lost much of the hype for this game is that I see no gameplay improvements since the E3 SP Demo.

The AI for the smalll guys looks as boring as ever. IMO, that part where he goes to the garage in the demo where there are lots of barrels and aliens, that shows the game at its worst.........and it's not really bad, but not what I'd call AAA or even close. It's basically just shoot shoot shoot since you don't have to do anything else as the enemies won't even attack unless you are right on their face.

I'll wait for more reviews to see what other ugly things the game has, or great surprises why not.

Ok its an opinion and I take the word "stupid" back. Although I called your "opinion" stupid not calling you stupid, what ever.

But Lebato you got to know that since the E3 demo it got a lot of changes. Now I dont know if Capcom made it easy so the AI wont release hell on you or what, but I do know this, that people are having problems with Extreme mode, which is hard mode.

Just got the game a few days ago, been playing for about 4 hours and on mission 4, i must say, the visuals are definately on par with GOW, although they totally different looking games, LP gives you the same wow factor with its stunning special effects and scope, especially during Boss battles... oh the boss battles, soo epic, its truly intense and immersive, its really incredible!

One things i dislike about the game so far is the A.I on the standard opponents, Definately not the sharpest tool in the box, but maybe its because i'm playing the game on normal difficulty, but overall, its definately a thumbs up sa far.

Here is my question. If LP is out where is the soundtrack for it?
The soundtrack from the stages should be in the Collector's Edition, but I dont know if anyone picked that up yet.

The game just gets better and better as it goes along, but for some reason though, as with many JP titles, it has that lack of normal difficulty progression i.e the game gets slightly harder as u complete various missions. It seems to a shoot from very easy to very hard in a single mission, on mission 5 atm and its very challenging, much more fun now.

I know i've spoke about the graphics already but, WOW!! The effects engine is simply incredible, all other developers need to make notes!

Sounds pretty good to me. In my opinion a lot of great games are slightly held back by a number of things, but it doesn't make them bad..small design elements (gameplay), bugs, poor performance..can do a lot to a great game. Sometimes the effect is quite large, BF2 could have been the best FPS ever, if it weren't for some simple mistakes on DICE's part and some serious bugs in general..but it wasn't. Still a damn fine game though.

Good review, so far it sounds like a winner.

Yea Dead Rising didn't exactly get amazing scores everywhere either. Pretty much this seems like a game on the same calibur as Dead Rising depending on your taste in games.

The game is certainly very good when it comes to Single Player excl. its short length but it seems its problems lie in multiplayer. Gears of War has just raised the bar so much for the genre that it's now quite hard to compete and given this is their first attempt at a title like this, I guess it's forgiveable besides I am buying the game for the SP. My preordered copy has been shipped today Woooooot!!!!!

I have only seen it 1 times, and it was yesterday night. they showed the theatrical trailer, but the one they showed on TV was a little bit edited short with different trailer music.
