1. What happend if you dont save the council?
2. Have anyone charm Saren, so you dont kill him?
I tried to put all my points on charm, but in the end
it always ending up with sarens death.

They also mention that the game is no longer pure UE3? Very interested to hear them expand on that. It's probably the kind of thing that probably could've been assumed, but some details wouldn't hurt.

I believe he said it in response to some of the criticisms with the first game that were tied to the engine and the answer was that it was no longer pure UE3 which is what allowed them to fix or improve a lot of the things people were most concerned about.
I'll go look it up right now so I can provide you with the actual quote on what was said.
problems that plagued the first game?
HUDSON:[After Mass Effect shipped], the
first thing we did was read every forum post,
every bit of feedback, and every review, and
then we looked at the frequency of comments
about certain areas. Texture-popping was one
of the most frequent [complaints], and I think
that's in part because it's such an immersive
experience. You start to feel like the characters
are real and you're actually there, and that's one
of those things that can remind you that you're
playing a videogame.
Now that we know exactly how our engine runs
- and with all the changes we've made, it's not
pure Unreal Engine 3 any more - texture-popping
is one of the things that we're able to fix pretty
easily. We'll substantially improve the experience.

Here is another part on the inventory management. I'm happy to read the select all delete comment haha. That inventory system really needed to go.
HUDSON:The inventory system that was in Mass
Effect 1 is completely gone - [that] was the only
part of the game that we did "Select All·Delete."
The way you customize your armor and weapons is
completely different; you don't have to do so much
fiddling with parts and pieces to upgrade your
armor and your weapons. Selecting which weapon
you're going to use has a new interface where you
can pick from 11 different weapons without having
to go rummage in an inventory.
We also have a new system for customizing
your armor that gives you much, much richer
control of what you're wearing [without] rifling
through an infinite bag of armors and their
associated parts. It's just a better system, and
it gives you all the choice that you had before -
actually, a lot more.
industry joke, but in a loving way.
HUDSON:It has! [smiles] First of all, the actual
problem with the slow elevators - and it's mainly
in one place, the Citadel- is what we weren't
showing you. In the Citadel, you're in a space
station that's five times the size of Manhattan
island, and you're going from one end to the other.
We didn't show you that that's what's happening;
the pod closed, and you assumed you were going
up three floors or something. It's also a problem
with getting to understand and appreciate the
universe - you don't really know where you are
and where you're going.
[In Mass Effect 2], we have a completely new
system for any time you go from one place to
another, and it almost goes the other way - now
the transitions are interesting, informative, and
pretty enough that you want them to take longer.
In the case of the Citadel, you see a schematic of
where you are, where you're going, and how
you're transiting. Through that. you'llieam a
lot more about what's happening and where
you're going in a way that looks so good that it's
over before you've fully enjoyed it. And the load
actually is faster in terms of seconds, so it has
double effect.
could he be the Mass Effect version of the epic HK47 from Kotor? :D

I suspect Saren might've pulled a fast one on Sovereign even as he was being used?
I'm feeling pretty confident that he'll be a member of our squad. Perhaps he'll be an evolution of sorts that took place right under the nose of the geth. What better tech specialist do you need when you have a geth in your squad? Even better what if he also has biotic capabilities?

Prepare To Drop!!
I can't wait to bring a geth into the Citadel and most other parts of the universe lmao :D
I suspect that geth, whoever or whatever it is, will serve as a symbol for what would've been had things gone right. I can't remember exactly, but didn't Saren have a lot of technology implanted into himself that changed him from what he originally was? Or am I just imagining that?

I think I saved Ashley more often because I found her more useful in combat.
Anyway, trailer looks damned awesome. I should really replay the first mass effect game sometime and create a "star" character that I'm going to carry over.

On my second (and current) playthrough, I intend to do things a bit differently. That way, I have two vastly different scenarios set up for ME2, with two very contrasting characters to play as.
