What are you smoking?, i have the CE for the 360 from the UK (GAME).

So i have played for around 9 hrs and i have to say this is fast becoming my fav game of the Next Gen era.., the characters are so much more richer and compelling, the locations are stunning, the conversation tree's flow so much better and are much more interesting, the story and choices great also, and to top it off i have not had this much fun in combat in a long while, so far so fracking good.

Yeah you might be on about the "latest gen" of games and not the hardware its self, ybut just thought i would state that.

Its already my fav this gen, its just pure sci-fi heaven, and at times it looks just amazing visually, but the conversations are my fav, they just flow so naturally and there are so many more conversation paths to go down and information to gain (i heard that ME2 has x2 the amount of voice work ME1 had) I agree that the characters seem to be much more fleshed out and interesting this time around, i atcually want to find out more about them, and the combat is just so much fun, i went with ADEPT, and i'm loving it, i'm smashing the hell out of everyone, but some times i get a bit to cocky and get owned, tactics def play a part, i also love how when you gain loyalty of one of your squad members you can them upgrade your skills to add there special power to your own.

The more I think about ME2 the more things come to my mind that could (and should) have been done so much better in terms of story. Eh, I hope they will improve this aspect in ME3. But, of course, I'll play ME2 again :D

I've been thinking a bit about ME3 and it's the first core game where I want Natal support. Not in the core gameplay mechanics, but put it to good use in mini games. They are the only average thing about the game and a big part of the game.

Just finished it. Took me 36 hours.

I enjoyed it more than the first game, despite the annoying scan/mine stuff.... Characters were amazing, specially Thane, and a special one :)
The soundtrack despite a couple of tracks, personally wasn't as good as the one from first ME. The ending was pretty awesome, lot's of tough choices, and some nice discoveries. But it wasn't as epic as the end of the first game.

Now the wait for ME3 starts. ME3 will be epic :)

I like the last char you get while going for the IFF. So awesome and surprising. I wasn't expecting it at all. I'm glad some surprises remained secret from all the video coverage.

About to take the Omega 4 Relay. It's always amazing to me how much shit they write for every single planet in the entire system of solar systems they make. So insane
Also the Joker scene is amazing, you know what I'm talking about

Just finished omega, yes i give it a other chance, that place was rank and boring, thank god miranda said its a piss hole cause i thought it was just me, i'm still not impressed, but the more i play it the more i pine for playing the first one, and i dont recall the battle system been this "clunky" it is getting worse the i play it, and as for the stats... laughable at best.

Yep this game is just so Epic!!, cant believe how much more refined it is over ME1, characters and conversations have drawn me in like no other game i've played (ok maybe KOTOR), Just finished Omega and it kicks ass! (don't want this game to end) Bioware continue to raise the bar again and again, bravo. :D

ahh the assumption that you and everyone else love this game, denial, awesome.

Anyways my comment was towards the "raising the bar" when it clearly does not raise anything, thats like saying Uncharted 2 raised the bar... raised the bar for what, yeah i loved the game but ffs it did nothing new.

Oh yeah armour options on ME2 is ace, but thats the WoW whore in me.

Exactly 24 perfect scores an avg of 96 on metacritic and near everyone that's played it says it's great game, just ignore him DC most people do!!

Anyway back to the game, I have noticed that the squad AI is better as well there much more effective, this game has def raised the bar for action rpg's.

Squad AI is much improved i agree, there have been many times in intense combat i have sent each squad mate to what i thought was a good cover position, only to see them after a few mins in that position, move to an even better vantage point to take out an enemy and kick ass, i am an ADEPT also and i really love it, will play through again as Vanguard as soon as i'm finished, oh and as i expected the mining mini game is getting on my nerves, but i now have the quickest mining tactics down and with the Normandy scanner upgrade its even quicker.

Yes because reviews mean everything, you did play halo 2 right? you do recall the reviews right? you do recall all those people even to this day praising it to the gods and ignoring all its down falls right?
But i suppose i am not allowed to speak bad of that either because i had a ps2 aswell as my xbox and was clearly not hardcore enough of a fan...just as is the case with mass effect i was a huge fan of halo, i rode that hype train like a cheap whore, and then it came out, every time i opened my mouth about anything that did not lick bungies balls people caled me a troll etc etc

Seems like you cant tell people bad things about something they love they will stand there going "but teh reviews" hell i love my misses and kids, but she is a bitter cow and there little shits. *looks at assasins creed....yeah reviews.

Sorry if i annoyed you, but i'm annoyed because i am majorly let down by this (so far) bore fest, and mainly bitter because everyone seems to enjoy it, and i just cant see it... very fucking annoying that is, like transformers everybody saw this ace movie..hell i did not.

Side note, headset broke.. boo, and since when you gotta pay to use party chat... skypes free right? same thing.

Of course Reviews are not the be all and end all, but i have yet to see a game that has and avg of 96% pro reviews and 90% gamer reviews on Metacritic be a crap game or borefest!!, NEVER!

Let me say this very slow as you fail to get the point being made, no one minds your thoughts on the game, even though you just drone on with the same old thing, its your opinion on the game, but for you to be an ass and start calling every one else that enjoys the game a lesser gamer or having low expectations is fucking stupid and will light a fire under peoples asses.

No, it's not this. You don't like the game and that's an opinion you are perfectly entitled to. However, your sum contribution to this thread seems to be telling everybody else they are idiots for disagreeing with you and thinking it's good. Perhaps if you don't have anything further constructive to add rather than repeating your disdain ad infinitum there is another thread better suited for you?

The game has been changed without doubt and I've my reservations about it certainly but different from what you were anticipating does not mean it is a "bad" game.

I'm still ploughing through my remaining Mass Effect 1 playthroughs and I commented that it felt very dated in a post Uncharted 2 world. The two hours of ME2 I played did not give me that impression.

Wont post in here again until i finished it.

Side note, i'm in a moaning bastard mood at the momment due to put 5kg on over xmas and got shit loads of DIY to do a fish pond to build, money to save for my speakers and not got energy to start my body building back up.. due to work sapping my energy

and killzone 2 is borrowed out and i want to play it so i can kill some little shits.

@Deft: I'm also trying to get through ME1 too so i can save the council this time and change some other choices also, but its very hard to go back to after ME2.

I would be interested in how the "save the council" choices panned out in ME2 too although I have no intention of doing so. I thought I'd get it out the way now precisely because of that reason! I've half an insanity playthrough to do plus another one to action my carry over choices, hit level 60 and get Wrex's ally achievement.

Starting a new character on Insanity was less difficult than I envisaged, probably because I'm a vanguard and I'd literally just done a hardcore playthrough. I maintain the combat in ME1 is ridiculously frustrating until you hit level 20 and/or have a good few ours experience in how it works. Plus the horrendous save system. I've gotten so used to the inventory system it no longer bothers me.

I admit the most frustrating thing i hated about combat in ME1, was how when it all kicked off with a big intense battle the framerate went to pot, causing all my tactics to go out the window, my squad to die and me left running for my life!, ME2 is just such a big improvement not only on the rock solid framerate but also how precise the combat feels and plays making it a joy to play.
