I wish I could walk up "steep" hills. If you even want to call them that. I feel like not being able to run up the sides of a level is something that's really really dated. I'm surprised they didn't do something about that

Finished the game just under 22 hours. Took my sweet time, did all the sidequests and still didn't manage to clock in more time that I did with Bioshock. Not exactly RPG worthy.

But, like I said earlier, ME2 feels much more like a 3rd person adventure shooter, rather than an RPG. And those 22 hours were fucking awesome!

Mine was 20 hours, and probably the best 20 hours so far this entire generation. It might be very RPG lite but that sure as fuck didn't stop it from being one of the best gaming experiences I've had in a LONG time. Maybe the best experience I've had since combat evolved.

It took you 20 hours to complete Bioshock?

Ok so i think i'm halfway through? Just had my first encounter with the collectors just wow!!, Also Ashley how could you just be so cold after all we have been though, bitch! :), the more i play it the more i'm loving it, combat/story/characters/side stories the game is just amazing!

One question, how the hell do you use the Nuke gun (Black Storm?) i have ammo for it but when i press the trigger in combat it just opens up makes a chugging sound and emits so gas then nothing? WTH!!

I have yet to use that weapon so i cant help you there yet.

I have to say i'm loving Adept, i played as Vanguard in ME1, but Adept just feels right for me, 'Sigularity' FTW :)

I thought i would not like Grunt, but he is fast becoming my fav character

The game is just amazing!!

I'm playing as a vanguard atm. I wish I could go back and go for adept, that's what I was playing in ME1. Oh well, next playthrough.

I'm surprised that so many of your decisions from ME1 pop up in 2. I can't wait to see if the Rachni do help me out! It feels like I'm running into someone from the first one every time I turn around. A lot of it doesn't change the game much, but it does add to the feel that it's a real place...

I think the most of what you hear about from ME1 is council thingy. My 1st playthrough was with council dead and somehow it just felt wrong, so now I'm playing 2nd time with a save where council was alive :) It's a shame that all the PR talk about the consequences of one's decisions from ME1 turned out to be, well, PR talk. There is virtually no impact of our actions from ME1 on the gameplay. Hopefully ME3 will make up for it. In truth, I got a feeling that ME2 was a bit rushed in terms of story/gameplay and Bioware already had ME3 in mind and I got a feeling that the ME3 will blow us away in terms of story.

I completed the story arc on Sunday and I clocked 36 hours. Everyone survived, woop :).
My class was Adept and probably my favourite power/s is the Pull then Push combo. Very satisfying.
It's nice that adept can use SMGs as well as the regular pistol. Even better that you can choose another weapon specialisation halfway through. Spices things up a bit.

BlackHawk, you need to have at least 100% ammo to fire the mini nuke. Makes a nice boom :)

I lol'd at the guy still trying to get that refund. Should of kept the receipt buddy :p

Actually I lol'd at loads of things. The game in general has a lot more humour than the first. Joker and EDI's scenes are excellent. Oh and Mordin is hilarious. The part where he sings to you was nothing short of epic.

Just finished it myself with the best outcome, loved the story arc and the final mission. Still a tiny bit irked by the missing elements i loved in the last game, but the quality of the resultant game was still so damn high it overshadowed everything.
I can't wait till next gen tbh, a mass effect with no loading screens, a larger number of systems / bigger areas and the same engine would be awesome.

I agree that there isnt a HUGE impact due to the decisions in the first game, but there are quite a few minor ones, quests, characters, conversations and reactions all change according to the previous game which is more than any other game before.

I think this is probably the best new franchise this generation. More companies should have a character carry over into their sequels instead of creating someone new every single time.

I beat this game in 32 hours. Maybe I played on a higher difficulty than everyone else? Or you just burned through it without reading a lot of it. Beat it on Hardcore though, going to do Insanity next.
Definitely wasn't as hard as ME1. I died so goddamn much in that game. I had over a hundred saves because of that.
Something I hope they do better with 3 is to scale the end of the game better so it's actually hard. ME1 and ME2 end bosses are waaaaaaaaay too easy to overcome.

Getting romanced by Jacob was creepy as fuck. I let it happen for the medal though...

ME2 end boss is quite a joke in terms of concept of a fight, true. Well, in a concept of a the character itself too, to be honest, heh. It lacks, well, character. :) I've read interesting opinion about ME2 - it really lacks a main villain. You know, someone you know you will eventually have to face. I know it's cilche, but at least it gives a story some flesh and a clear goal. When I read about it and thought about it I found it to be so true. Maybe that's why I think that the the main story of ME2 is bit shallow and not entirely fleshed out. Comparing to Saren the the end boss of ME2 is a pathetic joke :(

Started a new game. Female Renegade this time (was a Male Paragon), should be fun! Picked Adept.

I loved the characters so much. Still can't get over the fact how awesome the last squad member we recruit is. And we learn some very cool stuff from it. :P

Please everyone, keep using spoiler tags!!!!!!!!!

I'm 6 hours in and I believe I have only completed one major mission. I'm loving it definitely, it's awesome. I still maintain there is very few (if at all) games that have such a coherent universe. Not only that, but everything is explained one way or another WITHIN the game (no need to follow a freaking book).

I love everything but the Damn Planet scanning, lol. Its like fishing- bouts of boredom punctuated by a brief moment of fun when you get a "bite". The combat is a blast, by-the-way. I almost have Miranda in the sack!!!

Well didn't think it was available as a romance. Don't want.

I just started the last missions. Awesome. I really wanted to see Talis face, very disappointing. And again I end up liking all the alien crew members more than the humans. I needed an eye-opener to see that Miranda really isn't that interesting. Jacob is ok, but again, not interesting.
