I agree there.

Somehow it looks that it has a lot of bad things to downright awfull things incorporated that doesnt make sense at all.

He eliminated orb absortion UTs so that means goodbye to On Landing Uts.

Shake my head.
Keep those combos going and have that arm active!

Well, after I watched the youtube link from sath, I kinda changed my opinion at least a BIT!!!
My biggest fear after the first initial vids was that the combat isn´t as fluid, refelx-orientated and demanding as in the previous titles. So in the youtube vid we can actually see a player that has at least some skills. Hence I can see some segments where Ryu actually hits the enemies more than just three times after the SOB-command appears. If we´re lucky we´re maybe able to cancel the SOB-attack by just pressing a different button, that is actually displayed and therefor maintain the initiated combos.

Sure, still not the gameplay that we love so much, but at least a glimpse of hope that it might be still a fast and fluid experience.

Though, the friggin QTE during the other gameplay segments suck big time. Why not make those events more intuitive? I would slide or crouch intuitivly anyway when a friggin truck is flying at me!

Example: when he´s flying towards the opponent after jumping from the building, just make the screen getting a bit red, blured or something similar to indicate the need of a attack and let us press any button that we want. Would make this stupid gameplay elemets at least a bit less annoying.

The SOB-thing could be so much more fun, if they would indicate it with the removal of a limb, thus the trendy QTE-shit would be a "privilege" of other games. Maybe I could even forgive the slowdown from the SOB-attack with such an approach.
That´s simply like the OT´s in NG2 worked. And they were friggin brilliant.

Aha, but isnt SOB essentially OT?

Something that annoys me is how limbs didnt get decapitated but yet Ryu pulled that off.
Does this mean the SOB will automaitcally do it when enemy is weak enough? if so, damn stupid, would ruin ones combo.

I think slo-mo is alright. It would have been sweet to have a NG2-style fight and as you kill the last enemy, the game slows down as you 'splode his head in a shower of chunks with the staff. Unfortunately, we don't seem to be getting anything that cool.

We get to climb walls though... so there's that...

Yeah the villain indeed looks pretty cool. He could actually turn out to be an awesome opponent since fencing is insanly fast. All the humanoid opponents in the NG franchise were the most fun anyway.

You just block or dodge their bullets/rockets and get in their to kill them off, they are all predictable.

I can't wait to see how the more fantasy side of NG3 will be like.

See, I like having them sprinkled throughout the campaign as easy enemies that are gradually easier to kill as you get stronger. Nothing wrong with some weak enemies to make you feel beastly. Also, I prefer fighting humans in NG over demons. The blood and the reactions to weapon hits are usually a lot better.

Did you not play NG2?
The demons had gore as much as the humans, its the shitty NGS2 that didnt have that stuff, pissed me off.

Yes, It feels good to have weaker enemies once in a while to feel powerful, but even demons can be weak (pink imps).
But soldiers...boring enemies in NG for me.

I'm not saying I'd want to fight only human soldiers the whole time, but I also wouldn't have played NG2 if all I fought was fiends.

That said, rockets are a pain in the ass, and offscreen incendiary shurikens can go to hell.

Shows Region of the Mask (villain) boss too.

Before the boss and stealth approach, I really liked the gameplay, good combos, it has more relationship with NG1 than NG2, but it still has some aspects of NG2 which is the gore.

Now Hayashi said this level is just level 1, basically a tutorial to help you to learn some stuff, but these prompt will go away later on.
I do hope so, he even added QTE for the first time to DOA Dimensions to teach the player the basics, but later on there was no more of this.

If he do that, great!
As long as the QTE on screen goes away for like sliding under trucks, climbing...etc. it would be good.

But the QTE during the OT, I am fine with that as long as its not alot and every time...rather have a option to remove it.

The boss seemed super easy, didnt do shit, but then again, its probably on Acolyte.

I dont know, I do feel like I will enjoy this game for what it is, but will it be my favorite NG...extremely doubtful.

Hayashi says the QTE is not a real traditional QTE.
Its basic tutorial, level 1 type of guide QTE so people can get familiar with the combat and later on remove it so it feels more natural to do it (like NG2 OT button).

If thats the case then thats great, as long as the QTE goes away on level 2 or during later on in level 1 I will be happy.
As I mentioned it before, Dead or Alive Dimensions was like this. They guide the players for the first time to let them know the buttons and what they can do, but a bit later they will remove it and play normally.

And the games story is focusing on Dragon Sword but there will be other weapons, but its unsure how many and what.

The whole weapon thing doesnt bother me considering I love Dragon Sword and its my main weapon.

But what I want to know is some enemies, without touching them once, Ryu goes and kills them with the Steel-on-Bone move, I have no idea how that works, but I definitely dont like it.

Tbh, my interest for a good NG is back, but I am being light on that opinion.
Hopefully its a solid title.

My interest has increased alot by this interview when he said the QTE is just tutorial purpose and there will be more weapons other than sword but the story focus is on the sword...maybe Genshin's sword (demon curse + Ryu's arm?).

But I do believe the QTE during some of the "forced" slashes during OTs are going to stay, because I kept seeing random from X, SQUARE and TRIANGLE show up, dont know but gotta wait and see.

Hayashi, make me a believer again!

But again, some of the moves are so freaking badass and brutal!

PS. decapitation has to be to in it!

Here you can see no QTE during the combat other than ambush in the fog, but the player is actually running around, which I thought the stealth sequences was forced, thank god its not!

Hayashi did say the QTEs are just for tutorial to guide you at first to get into the new mechanic, but once you do them they will go away, damn I love watching the gameplay now without getting those constant QTEs and slow mo.

Camera is very bad during the fog, I do believe the camera was suppose be stealth mind. But considering the player was a genius to go all actiony the camera doesnt go back.
Though I do believe its done on purpose for challenge which NG is known for as goes for some cheapness as usual lol

My faith is restored seeing these videos.
