Path of Exile is a free online-only action role-playing game set in the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast. It is currently under development by Grinding Gear Games in New Zealand. New players are being added continuously to the Closed Beta Test.

6. What does Path of Exile cost to play?
Path of Exile is 100% free to play, for everyone, forever. Our website will allow the purchase of many in-game perks and aesthetic upgrades, but all of these are completely optional, and players can have a complete, fulfilling gaming experience without spending a penny.

7. I still don't understand how it's free to play - what's the catch?
There is no catch at all, once you download the client you are free to play for as long as you like, with no charge. The purchasable perks do not convey any gameplay benefit, but help you create a unique look for your character and its fighting style.

It's currently in closed beta but I think this has potential! They are giving one beta key every 30 minutes for registered users.. so yeah you need to be really lucky to get in :(

This looks pretty cool =) Like NWN2 but better looking and free!

EDIT: Runescape can pretty much kiss its userbase goodbye if this releases and makes the grade. The grade being pretty low when you don't have to pay at all.

I think the characters should show up on both servers.

Edit:
Today's deployment of the 0.9.3g patch added a European gateway to the Path of Exile Closed Beta realm. European players still play on the same realm as people on the American gateway, but are allocated to appropriate servers by default.

Well this game has a load of potential, but I have to say, the zoom level and HUGE fonts are killing it for me a bit. The immense chart you see above is the passive skill tree. There seems to be a separate starting point for each class (you can see mine starting from the highlighted circle in the center), and no one character is meant to explore every bit of that space. It's still huge, but it's actually quite easy to follow. I really love how gems level, and how they take the roll of active skills. The potion system seemed a little newbie to me at first (they regenerate)--but they regen as you kill enemies, which is a pretty fair exchange, and you can get new and larger flasks too.

All in all.. I'm pretty pleased with what I see so far. The game is pretty clearly incomplete.. but it has loads of potential. I shall press on.

I want to like this game (love the gem system) but the camera is really killing it. Dungeons are really cramped too.

If anyone has a friend beta key throw me a bone, I been trying to get into this for ages .. lol

Loving that FFX sphere grid system :P

As for the potion system, Diablo III seems to be throwing HP orbs at the player left and right aswell, not sure if that will change on harder settings.

    TheDud des ombres douces, c'est assez zinzin. je pense que les passages en foret font être fou. le seul hic pour moi : la route pavée dans les villages qui a pas un très bon rendu (compression de la video ?) (il y a 2 Heures)

    TheDud les decors, on voit des cascades avec de beaux rochers, une vegetation superbe, des arbres avec une vraie belle ecorse et un eclairage fou (les arbres qui filtrent la lumiere et projettent (il y a 2 Heures)
