What's wrong with that? It's not gonna turn it into Gears of War... people instantly flank you so you can't really stay in cover, you're constantly on the move.

There are a few things I don't like about the upcoming Max Payne, but the cover system ain't one of them. It's a welcome addition for me.
Because sticky cover is terrible in nearly every game I've played that uses it.

I just watched a video for the mode you were referring to Sath. That was the other mode on the other side that I didn't play. Mine was a capture point game and that looks more like a TDM game type.
Looks like they had more access to weapons and items and got to try out cloak. Recoil looked realistic to me, and I think it's a good thing they're taking it into account the stress of the situation with aiming.
It looked like you could see your opponents for the most part (red and blue) even when they had cloak.

I think it will encourage swan diving and camping. Your accuracy is just better on the ground and you're less of a target. Granted I didn't play against anyone decent, but I didn't die because I kept going prone.
I started doing it right away and never stopped.
Could you heard if there was some sound when you hit something, I mean like when teh bullets hit teh enemies?

A chirp sound like in CoD or something?

Anything?

Please say yes, my purchase depends on that even if it sounds silly.

I hate prones in shooters, its annoying to constantly look on the smallest edge of things on the ground to see if there is a enemy or not, I just dont like prone. Killzone, Halo, Crysis 2...etc. they dont have prone so I applaud for them lol.

That video shows the cloaking isnt as crazy as Crysis 2, you can seem them if you really pay attention, but it is still a bit hard. I am hoping for some sort of a heat vision to spot them, something that ALL classes should have IMO.
As usual, I always go with assault rifles, so Rifleman is my class, unless there is a more "recon" type going on then thats another class I go with, but mostly Rifleman.

The recoil is realistic but there should be a line to not cross, in the end it is a video game and should be fun and not an annoyance IMO. I guess its a burst fire heavy game, I am okay with that.

Btw, that see-through enemy thing, I think that is only through air drone from one of the teammates or against AI. I strongly doubt its cloak + see all enemies, then thats idiotic.

Well beta is in a few weeks so I am hoping I come in to experience it, it is the next shooter I am looking forward to, looks so damn great IMO.

You couldn't really hear anything on the show floor, the place was too loud.
Only team speak was running through the headphones unfortunately. I had to listen to some idiotic kid talk to his friends the whole time.

Well in that game type it looked like you could see enemies and friendlies (blue/red), based upon a type of vision the guy was using. I would assume that to counter the cloak.
Another thing that is likely impacting recoil is not everyone has a sight they can look down. Depends on your gun. So a lot of times people are just straight up aiming and that's it, without an iron sight.

Thanks alot of the quick impressions Tinks, I appreciate it alot.

Yeah I know that when you are being fired upon the stress level of your character will rise and makes your aiming and shooting overal much more difficult, so thats something new to shooters IMO that is why teambased flanking would be great.
You mean like battlefield 3's surpressive fire?

That blurs your vision, it doesnt really effect your aiming and starting going crazy and all over the place and make your screen shake like crazy.
Besides, considering Ghost Recon FS has cover mechanic, there is no way you can pop your head out since you are being fired upon and its useless to fire back when your aim is totally off and you would get hit and start wasting bullets.
And you cant stay there long since cover can be destroyed by explosive and bullets.

So yeah, idea is the same but doesnt work exactly the same.
I like it, it really gives you that sense of panic and stress.

I played the MP recently, no it doesnt exagerate the suppression as much as it does in GR FS.
But Like I said, same idea but its not "exactly" like it, so yes "kinda" does.

I wouldnt consider it "new" tho. Now seeing as another game does it too.

BF3 absolutely yields a massive accuracy/spread penalty during suppression, and explosions also shake the shit out of your screen. Red Orchestra 2 has suppression too.

I think it's a misguided concept, really. It does reward tactical play, but those things are naturally rewarded. It's pretty pointless to penalize someone who is already at a great disadvantage.

Prone isn't for camping. All of those games you mention are rife with scrubby campers.

Prone leads to more camping for campers and makes it harder to see them and thats obvious.
All shooters have campers, my point is prone makes it harder to spot campers and being annoyed by them even more.

So you want for developers to eliminate a game mechanic just cause you hate campers? Or qwhats your solution? A mode where there is no prone?

Deal with it and learn to counter those fucking campers, nothing wrong with prone at all, in fact I like it.

Yea, but it really doesn't. Campers aren't very threatening in BF3, for example, and prone = more freedom of movement. Learn to use it right and you won't hate it.

I use it right, quick cover, reload, and get up or just use it for cover until its safe to move. But campers, they just use it to stay lol
And I have come across alot of prone campers in BF3.

Anyways, getting a bit sidetracked with the threat topic here lol, better stop.

No obviously not, but I hate campers, even if they are in my own team.
If you are not protecting an objective, move!

Bah whatever, I stopped playing BF3, too many issues for me to enjoy it any more than I did.
