Here is a link with some impressive comparisons...

You have to take a double take to know which one is which, the tree is a dead giveaway on the first Tokyo shot...

Very nice stuff. Best looking 360 game IMO.

The trees are worst thing about PGR3. Is definately the best looking game on 360, and the attention to detail is incredible. Will be interesting to see how forza 2, and PGR4 turn out.

Any predictions as to the areas they recreate for the next game?

I hope they do San Fran again in a future game. It was my favorite on the original PGR. All those hills and the wharf.

Yeah San Francisco was great. Would like to see a more rural environment, maybe a Mountain track in france. Monte carlo would be cool.

I liked the rural, country, mountain tracks in some of the Burnout games.

Something like the Maple track in Forza, but longer would be nice too.

I think that if they are to take their series any further, they need to create a new style of career. PGR3 had perfect gameplay, but the career was just a big list of races to plough through. There is no sense of achievement as in GT3. I think they need to increase the scale of the courses, add some more opponents, and create a proper career with tornaments.
Will be tough to make PGR4 that much better, without rivalling Forza.

You have Live now right? I think getting all silvers, golds or dare I say it platinums definitely gives a feeling of achievement.

Yeah it does on the higher difficulties, but it's not exactly in depth. You can buy the best car after a few trophies, and the only thing to achieve is a few garages. Great game, best racing gameplay ever, but sort the career out on the next one.

Did you read any of the previews? The whole point was not to make you wait a hundred hours before you could buy the best car.

Correct..

For a few of my friends it's a good thing because they just wanna race online for fun and not play many hours of SP just to get the good cars (in PGR2 I had to give them my profile so they could use all cars)..

But I guess there's an argument for both sides..

I would be a fan of PGR if it had more too it...but like you said Scarface, it might be rivaling Forza if it does go any further.

But I guess if they don't make Forza 2 then it wouldn't be much of a problem..

What kind of logic is that? PGR3 isn't a deep sim racer, it's deeper than burnout, but still fun to play and most people can drive decently after a few races.

Not making forza would just be silly.

Well I haven't heard anything about a Forza 2...

And how many cars are in PGR3? Can you customize your cars at all?

So every game they haven't announced isn't coming out? I mean come on man really.

No you can't customize your cars in PGR3, it's not that kind of game.

PGR3 is almost the perfect mix between arcade and simulation racing imho.. It's just racing with very cool real cars in real environments.. It's really unique in it's kind imho, it brings casual and hardcore racers together..

Forza Motorsport is more like the GT-series on the PS, a simulation with real cars in real and fictional environments, and lots of tweaking and upgrading of the cars, for the hardcore although it has some casual gamer features like the green perfect and braking line and the stuff like ABS and traction control etc.. I'll be very dissapointed if MS won't release a Forza Motorsport 2 on the Xbox 360, it's one of the games I'm really looking forward to.. Tbh, I really can't imagine MS not working on it right now..

And then you also have the very nice RalliSport Challenge, which is bassicly the equivalent of PGR but then in rally instead of streetracing, with just a little bit more tweaking etc.. I also hope they'll make RCS3 on the Xbox 360 aswell, almost a sure bet they are just as with Forza2..

All these racers (plus offcourse Xbox Live) are the main reasons for me buying an Xbox (and Xbox 360 this time).. I really can't wait for RSC3 and Forza2 besides PGR3 (and eventually PGR4 etc in the long run).. The only thing I can think of the PS has to compete is the GT-series (and no good online system), so it was an easy choice for me when I wanted a gameconsole next to my PC..

So no customization what so ever...okay...well then they have to make up that with cars...so how many cars does it have?

The point of PGR3 is stylish racing on a level playing field, hence the "lack" of customization of the cars. The cars come as factory standard (or to concept specs) so everyone is judged on how they drive, not how they have their suspension set.

Customisation is annoying. In GT and forza, all you end up doing is buying a car and buying every upgrade there is. Gets boring...

I disagree.. I dunno about GT, but I played Forza a lot and there you had different combinations of upgrades that could work.. So it was not just getting all upgrades available.. I also always went for the coolest sounding exhausts for example, even if that didn't give the best performance.. ;)

I also liked the paint custimazation in Forza a lot.. I even ended up making a whole lot of the same Mini's in different colors with the same design, our gamertags on the numberplates, and same sponsorlogo for our Mini racingclub/clan.. It was so cool when we raced others, we really looked like a proper racingteam using the same cars.. See: http://www.bigbear.cistron.nl/Forza/DSC00009.JPG sponsor: Sven's bar :)
