Look you like uncharted, I get that. So we'll leave it there.

It isnt about me liking it or you not liking it, it's about it being triple A....which it most certainly is. As i said earlier, whether that makes it a killer app is subjective. But it IS AAA. Hell, the just cause devs have recently announced 3 AAA titles in development for 2013 and 2014. The title has nothing to do with the possible quality of those games. It just means they're high budget and have had a lot of resources put into them.

AAA, or Triple-A, may be a three-letter acronym or may just mean something that is high-quality, premier, or excellent.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AAA

No mention of money there.

Ok, lets agree to disagree and move on.

Just played Rayman for the last 90 minutes and its very fun, altho i saw a quick frame drop.. U13 was a quick way to try a shooter on the thing, Im still getting used to the analogs, no YOUTUBE app !!!??

They are not in direct competition. And everyone knows that people don't actually play shit on their iphones. They just buy shit. It's Steam on a micro level. It's a friggin' scam.
Ok, this if off topic, but dude... that's the most shortsighted thing i've ever read you saying. My wife has countless hours of fruit ninja and angry birds. She and a friend have been for weeks trying to beat each other's best scores on flickkick football, all my friends (all 30+ yo) are hooked into (the multiplayer multiplatform scrabble game) wordfeud. Since i changed from the iphone to the windows phone i'm always playing puzzle quest, did the full achievements of the awesome collapse, etc etc etc. (not to mention the ipad, friends spending hours on galaxy on fire, the awesome sords and sorcery, osmos etc). Yeah, keep saying to yourself that no one plays on their phones (and apparently everyone knows that!)

But it's funny, because i actually came to this thread to read about the vita, because i'm thinking about it but since there's already so many games on the smartphones/tabs that i'm not really sure i have the need/space for another extra gadget when i go travelling/day to day free time.
But on the other hand, damn, it looks like such a damn hot gadget...

PSV has a crazy good screen, if you like beautiful colors and want to see what future tv's will look like, get one. BUT, the games that will make the PSV truly great will not be out for a while, I dont want the PSV to just play downgraded PS3 games, I want the unique control possibilities to be used in logical useful ways to allow for improved gameplay.

PS, ITS BIG, honestly the PSV feels like a gaming laptop, usefull cos its ALL in ONE device, but, its NOT the epitome of portability...

totally with you on this one. If I wanted to play uncharted I'd have bought a ps3. Like you say, we need games which are unique and only possible because of the platform. The ipad and the smartphones have plenty of those. Take Dead Space 2 on the iPad. Yeah, cool gfx etc, but who cares, i don't want to play that on the iPad, it's just stupid. Infinity blade on the other hand, only feels right because it's on the iPad (tablet i meant), with it's touch/swipe mechanics

that's only becasue you have to dumb down the mechanics due to the input methods avaliable to you on the ipad and iphone

dead space isnt shit because it's a home console experience on a handheld, it's shit because it doesnt work on a touch screen ONLY device. the vita doesnt have those limitations. what's great about the vita is that you CAN have true, 100% faithful home console experiences on the go due to the processing power and more inportantly, the buttons and twin analogue sticks. and that's what i want and it's the one area where sony can outshine the competition. why dumb down the experience (ala infinity blade) when you dont have to? now, if the vita was like the DS or iOS devise, then yes, i'd agree, they should make games catering to it's sole means of control - touch screen. for instance, dont put an FPS on a device that only has touch controls. but if you have 2 analogue sticks right there...bring it on.

i'm all for the experiences you're describing, but it shouldnt be the only type of experience on the system, not when it doesnt need to be. do you honestly think infinity blade would have been the same game had the ipad been released with twin analogue sticks? i dont think it would have. the only reason it's an accessible, on-rails, swipe-at-the-screen game, is becasue that's all the ipad can realistically pull off. when it tried to pull off anything with more control and meat on its bones, it comes off as kinda embarrassing (see dead space) i'd love a dead space on the vita tho, for the simple fact that it can pull it off flawlessly.

The PSV can cater to many different tastes, which honestly rocks!!!

Netflix looks AMAZING.

Also if you press home button a 2nd time, you get a tilled window view of your opened apps, quite nice.

I tried the STEAM version of rayman, and can't decide between that or PSV :(

I just got a 50 bux coupon, and if I can apply it to my purchase then I will keep it as I doubt it will get any cheaper during the holidays...
