What do you mean by that? If you mean, easy to play and throughout enjoyable (like ME2 was), then I'm all for it.

edit: Otherwise, I don't think there is something like mainstream in videogames. Certainly not something comparable to the music industry. Games are defined by their over all quality and not by their artistic execution.

? Nothing mainstream about the game. It's not too easy to play, the story doesn't cater to teeny boppers, and it is friggin' great. Loving every second of it. I really like Marston too- he's one polite bad-ass...

I don't take as much issue with people not qaulifying opinions as much as I do people presenting their opinion in an arrogant as fuck manner. To say that one didn't enjoy GTA IV is a far cry from saying "GTA IV is just a pile of shit excuse of a game". I didn't enjoy MGS4 much at all, but I can also see outside my own tastes enough to realize that it's a polished game with plenty to offer other types of gamers. Grift, you obviously have very strong opinions and are a very opinionated person, but I don't think you feel like your opinions are objective truth as your posts imply you agree to this I believe.

but, again, it's the way that someone phrases their opinion that can make game argument threads so vile and annoying. How can someone not realize the difference between "you are wrong", "i think you are wrong", and "I disagree with you". The first sounds VERY arrogant, the second sounds less arrogant but still degrading one's opinion, and the third simply states a difference in opinion and taste.

It's as if you think there is no room for being polite and NOT trying to sound like an arrogant prick? does this make sense?

Anyhow, sorry, I'm not trying to turn this thread back into a long debate, I just didn't want my original point to be too misunderstood

I'll be buying this game as soon as my tax refund comes in (I hate being a poor college student...ugh) as the game seems like it's going to be really interesting in a very wide variety of ways.

My biggest problem with the MP side of GTA IV was that I didn't enjoy the gunplay enough to make the player vs player combat feel nearly as fun as combat against the AI in a mission. If the gunplay feels a lot more natural and intense, the MP side of RDR should be just as thrilling as the co-op stuff. Can't wait to try it out!!!
I wasn't specifically calling you out or anything dude, I just see that around these parts (and others) quite a bit. People get their panties in a bunch over things that are clearly opinion. I just don't think that everyone needs to qualify every subjective statement as such. Context should do most of the work for us. You seem to be more on about people nice and/or polite to each other, which I agree is something that we should all strive for, but it's the internet, so I think it's natural for some of that to get lost in translation. Acert and I butt heads on here all the time, but when I talk to him on live we're fairly nice to each other. I think that when people disagree in text it is easy to misinterpret certain things as copping an attitude when it's really quite harmless. Some people are just really sensitive to these issues. I'm not.

But well put anyway!

Anyone know how exactly that Social RDR stuff is goin to work?

I have never done anything like that in a game before,I already have my Social account in the rockstar site since like a year ago and I already have it linked to my gamertag,that means when I get teh agme it will automatically linked everything?

This is how I feel about it. I'm of the viewpoint that a game/movie/music being good/bad in terms of quality isn't necessarily related to how enjoyable I find it or how much I like it. I can enjoy games that are lacking in quality, and I can also dislike games that are more than competently done. As such, I try to make a distinction between saying if I like/dislike something and whether or not it's good/bad.

No it's not out on PC. Nothing announced yet, but who knows same happened with GTA4 they announced PC version at later time. And if they do i will be buying the game for the second time.

If you have a choice go with 360. My 360 isn't functional anymore and unfortunately there is no word on if its coming to PC so I got it on PS3. Looks and runs just fine, however its 640p instead of 720p i hear.

I'm pretty disappointed in the amount of bugs in this game. Playing online in free roam is just frustrating. My character turns invisible, or my mount, or my targets. I get frequent disc read errors or freezes.

Just terrible.

I'm disappointed that none of the reviews mentioned this.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a PC version in the future, but scoobs is right, there's been no word. If you can't hold out (and for a considerable time, it seems), I'd get the 360 version. I think I plan too, too.

I was just watching my roommate play and saw a bug where he fell through the roof of a building while gathering feathers from a downed vulture and then kind of phased through the wall back outside the building.

I honestly don't remember well, but i think it was just announced at later date after console releases.

And about bugs, as long they are not game breaking that make it crash etc, i won't mind them much. Game seems to do so much stuff well, that a few bugs won't hurt experience :)

Reviews mention the bugs. You can see it at Gamestop and in the video review on IGN I'm pretty sure. It was one of their only complaints
