Up until now, the best horses I'd seen in a video game - in terms of how they look and the way they move - were probably from Assassin's Creed. But now, I'd say Red Dead: Redemption just about takes the cake... or hay. Whatever.

i agree, come on though you gotta admit this whole game is built around horses. Hmm i wonder in multiplayer if you get to have one of your friends ride bitch lol

It seems pretty obvious that the PS3 version is sub HD. In fact, VERY sub HD. I'm looking somewhere around 540P.
Goddamn it I don't want to switch to the 360 version (720p 2xMSAA) but that is just taking the piss.

So why is this game so exciting? I see the same old, and horrible shooting mechanics of GTA IV. In fact, it looks like another GTA IV on a different setting. Everything else just feels the same. The cover, the shooting, the running, the AI.....it just feels old to me.

considering I've been playing games for 20 years, everything seems old. still doesn't stop me enjoying new challenges, like nun vs train!

oh and these games are being run off off badly compressed internet copies, so dont judge the game on these vids, i still think its gonna be epic!

Looks the same, although you can choose between, auto-aim, semi-auto aim and no auto-aim this time..

It is pretty much identical to GTA shooting. They obviously have improved upon it, but expect it to be very much the same.
You can adjust how much it's like GTA though. The harder the difficulty the more realistic the shooting becomes. On easiest though it's got some auto lock shit and is simple like GTA though

Although it was previously stated this was tied to the difficulty level, I saw that there's an Auto Aim: on/off option in the OPTIONS menu.....

It's pretty crazy how much better this gen's open world games look compared to last-gen's efforts like San Andreas or Mercenaries. They're looking much, much better than I imagined them when I was playing GTA:SA or Mercs1 staring at their fugly environments.

Shooting is implemented really nice with the exception of shooting while riding a horse, where you basically have to use Dead Eye to score consistent hits. On foot shooting is a breeze. I suggest you guys switch to Expert mode right away - Normal difficulty is easy and enjoyable but I felt a bit like I was cheating :)

True, but also game played in motion on a good big HDTV look like a completely different story than direct-feed screens on your laptop would lead you to believe :)

But I think it wont be,all teh streams I saw looked like the game is very fun plus a friend told me it is great and really fun unlike GTA4
