Simon, I like Capcom, one of my favorite companies along with Team Ninja (Team Ninja is first though).
Both companies has given me the best titles in my favorite gaming genre, hack and slash action games.

So yeah, I would never talk bad about Capcom, they got very cool titles (c'mon next gen Onmisha for PS3, please!).

Yeah i can't agree that it's the prettiest game ever. Games like Crysis totally whips this (god i hope i'm flame retardant). It looks good but the stale animations makes it look old. I wish they would have put some sort of procedural animation system in there by now, you know? This kind of game really gets something out of it.

It's not really my problem because I have no interest in playing it. I'm primarily a console gamer, so ignoring Crysis in graphics conversations is easy enough given that the cost required to have it look good and run well puts it in a different class.

If I was a handheld gamer and was avidly talking about how great I thought Ninja Gaiden DS looked, and someone said Uncharted looks better, I'd dismiss what they said as being irrelevant in much the same way.

But you are right about one thing, Crysis doesn't affect the prettiness level of RE5 one bit; I still think it's fantastic looking.

Well i have to say that just excluding a game on a current platform is silly. Ofc we shouldn't compare between stationary and portable hardware for obvious reasons but a year old pc game is still in the ballpark. Now if you choose to ignore that be my guest, it's pretty weak though.

And if it specifically has to be a console game then farcry 2 does the job as well. But perhaps you aren't interested in playing that either, rendering it void.

FWIW you don't need that expensive of a PC to run crysis at 720p and yes it whips RE several times in the graphics stakes.

Sometimes I try to picture you guys having everyday conversations. Example:

Ronsauce - What a beautiful day!
Megido - Nope! Three days ago was nicer!
Ronsauce - Um, what? I didn't say this was the nicest day ever, I just said it was a nice day.
Lebato - No way!! Three days ago was nicer, this day sucks.

All Ronsauce said was that it looked "fantastic". Which it does. He at no point said, "Res Evil 5 looks more fantastic than Crysis. Crysis is gay and so is your face"!!!

One game being good looking doesn't suddenly nullify other games from being good looking.

RE5 is not as techinically impressive as Crysis, but for me its overall look and art style is much more visually appealing to me. Gears 2/Killzone 2 also impress me more than Crysis does.

Its the same as when Half Life 2 first came out, it never made me think "WOW" even though it was highly regarded as the best looking game by far at the time.

The only time, lifelike visuals really impress me is in Racing and Sports games.

I am pretty sure many people still think Crysis needs $4000 PC to run properly.

Doom 3 was that wow game at that time.

Still RE5 looks pretty ok-great, although water looks a bit strange.

Isomac: seeing as how my two year old rig that wasn't especially expensive at the time i bought it runs crysis with with most settings maxed it's not that big a whoop to get it running any more, no :)

I mean i'm packing a 8800gts, 2 gigs of ram and a 2.4 ghz dual core...not that impressive hardware.

This game looks great.

Now i must have said this endless times, atm, crysis is in its own little playground, with all settings maxed, no game comes close from a technical perspective.
So stop bringing it up, especially vs the 360 or ps3...

Ill be getting this on pc tho.

I disagree. I find RE5 looks much, much better than FC2.

So with that way of thinking we should probably include a $2000 tv in the console price since you CAN buy that to play your 360 on. I bet the 360 needs a slew of acessories as well, and we'd best buy a couple of extra hard drives case you know...we CAN. Wtf does the gfx card you CAN buy have anything to do with it? The vital point is that you CAN play Crysis maxed out with a card for 80 bucks, 2 gigs of ram and a pretty average processor.

I played it on my 8800gts, 2 gigs of ram and 2.4 ghz dual core, as stated above. Sure i didn't run it at 1440x900 as i would ideally like to do but it ran pretty smoothly. With that not saying that i was at 60 fps constantly, but 30 fps is perfectly fine if you ask me.
