it will be available the same day as the PS3 Launch November 17, 2006

My God Sega !! What is wrong with that company! It used to be my favorite but now after the way it has turned I really feel betrayed! My Dreamcast is nothing but a memory because of sony :( and Sega now is actually helping htem even more.. ! Maybe is the only company left hehe (according to Action man's sayings..if that's true)

It's quite funny, because 360 E3 demo was definitely further in development than PS3 demo. So 360 gamers have to wait only for marketing reasons.

yes thats true..But also we see sega supporting very strongly the PS3 exclusive VF5 and now this shows attidute and also the amount of money that Sony has spended in order for the game to be at PS3 Launch

I'm a huge Sonic fan but I'll want the best version. If the PS3 version is inferior I don't mind the slight wait for the 360 version. It's not like we won't have games to play this fall anyway.

I recently saw a clip where they were comparing the Sonic 360 version with the PS3 version....they and i saw no difference whastoever....so each version will look exactly the same.

I duno why you guys are complaining for, it's common sense that Sega would release both versions around the same time and that just happens to be on the launch day of the PS3.

Whats with all this conspiracy all of a sudden?

It's not like the 360 version has been canceled or anything.

It's being held back a while though. It's like a mini-timed exclusive, so frustration's not entirely without merit.

Sorry, but i didn't read the original source before. IGN is claiming, that 360 version will ship the same day? If it's true then ok. But SEGA executive a week ago or so said in biz.gamedaily.com interview that 360 version would ship a while later. I'm confused.:/

It makes sense that if they launch it with the PS3 more people will buy it because there will be less on offer.

Why should Sega be loyal to 360 owners anyway, they're trying to make money after all.

Releasing a game at a console's launch is a brilliant strategy, especially when there's NO other platformer around for launch. Best selling Gamecube game at launch? That's right; Sonic Adventure 2.

Why should Sega be loyal to 360 owners anyway, they're trying to make money after all.
Its not about sega being loyal to 360 fans..Its about Sega turning its back to the company that made them quit the console war once and for all

It's bussiness after all and SEGA's goal is to make money, not follow their old sentiments.

I dont believe that sega will make more money by making games for just one console..I believe they care about their Japanese thing going there with sony so much that their willing to sucrifice their past.. I dont like playing sonic and mario on the same console and I also dont like playing virtua fighter and Tekken on the same console..I just dont like it! Also the guys that made virtua fighter 5 said once that if VF was online it will be no more VF but something else.. So I see AM2 and sonic team acting like this and I feel so sad! Its
not fair to have some Japanese companies not coming to 360 just because they think that their selling out cause its an american console..and on the other hand companies like sega making exclusive games to their biggest enemies that made them look small and stupid..
How come it is considered selling out for some companies if they come to 360 side AND on the other hand Sega making games to its past enemies its not a selling out

The game is coming out the SAME exact day for the 360. Plus Sony can have that Virtua Fighter 5 exclusive I want to see who gets Shenmue THEN we can talk.. Peter Moore likes Shenmue I think he'll do everything he can to secure it and I believe it'll be announced at TGS.

Yea.. take some lose some. Virtua Fighter is good and all, but if I had a choice between shemue 3 and virtua fighter 5 I'd go with shenmue 3 even if I was drunk or mentally insane ;)

Exactly, Op, everyone wants Shenmue. It's such an amazing game and recent comment from Sega executive brought back my hopes! I don't know if Shenmue was such a big title in Japan though.

It hasn't been proven false, when Yu suzuki was asked in a recent interview he said that the game wasn't in development but he was very aware of the petition for the follow up to the sequel.

His main project's at the moment are psy-phi and shenmue online, but said he would like to eventually go back to shenmue and finish the story.

But saying that both Sega and Namco aren't the software power houses they uses to be. :(
