Hmm, very nice visuals....but it's a in-engine (probably pre) rendered cut-scene, which always look better as everything is scripted.
Hmm, characters running still looks a bit weird.

I doubt we'll get a lot of freedom in this. Probably linear cinematic game like Uncharted, with (hopefully) much less action.

Is there anything confirmed?
too much freedom isn't good imo, see the stalker series. I got bored of wandering around the map like an idiot and uninstalled that game. I think Crysis got it right

Think it's touched up in game cut scenes they have shown off not CGI

That's a cut scene using the game engine.

E3 will be pure gameplay.

It's CGI using the game assets. Look at the animation. That's the first thing that gives it away. then there's motion blur and other post processing. The AA alone confirms it.

From an article on Gamespot about trailers:

"If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a trailer is worth a thousand screenshots," Taylor Kurosaki, cinematic production lead at Naughty Dog, says. "Every Naughty Dog trailer ever made--other than slates or titles--comprises completely of in-engine assets. Straight gameplay shots are recorded real-time out of the PlayStation, and cutscenes are rendered directly from the game. We don't use any CGI whatsoever."

Once again, I'm amazed at how incredible this game looks.

It'll probably have the same graphical quality as Uncharted

Thinking the game will look like this trailer is just foolish. When will people learn

All games should do this, and i really dont see why they dont, the cinematics benefit due to more complex animation rigs, and increased sample rate, but it retains the look of the game (something CGI doesnt, even though it does look cool) and then on top of that, since it's reading direct off the disc, you can hide load times with the pre-recorded movie. You basically gain consistency, and quality, and you lose all visible load-times. Win-win surely? They just need to not use the bink codec, that thing is an artifact-fest and is constantly flagged when eurogamer do a tech analysis.

ND's 'magic' only really comes into fruition with visuals and story telling though... gameplay seems to be taking an increasing backseat. I hope this has a decent balance between the effort put into polishing the gameplay as much as polishing the visuals.

I'm currently playing through uncharted 3.. and for a 3rd game in the series its strange to see tutorials and such hand holding continue till you're half way through the game when it finally trusts you to not be a complete idiot and know how to throw a hand granade.
A series of fixed camera angles, button mashing automatic platform sections, and hand to hand fighting that's a short step away from your basic QTE.. ND certainly arent leading the way on the gameplay front. But least we're garenteed some of the best acting and directed set pieces gaming has to offer with this Last of us.
Exactly why I'm only 1/4 way through Uncharted 3 and it sits and collects dust while I play Alan Wake and some other games that actually have some gameplay that keeps my interest.

Personally I think this trailor is not pre rendered, but I don't think it looks completely spectacular either. I think it looks great for in engine or real gameplay. I will buy this game I'm sure.

didnt you find alan wake insanely repetative, same enemies, same location, same tectics, same combat situations (having to fall down a ledge and getting ambushed afterwards ad nauseum) i bought the collectors edition of that game and it felt like a 1 hour game stretched across 10, it's why i never bothered with any of the DLC. to each their own i guess.
