ND have accepted that a robust MP component is a necesity if you want your game to succeed in a big way. it's a shame, but it's the truth. people bitched about U2 having a MP component as well, claiming it would take too much attention away from single player. and what do you know, uncharted 2's single player was not only better, but longer. ND know what they're doing. MP may be their main focus, but i can guarentee it wont be at the expensive of an amazing single player campaign.

Good to see some dust and sand flying around...the beta maps were so static. Good work by Naughty Dog
Also, liked the small lensflare on the screen with the dust, fantastic visuals all around.
But man, I hope they fix the bullsponge so its like Uncharted 2 after-patch in MP, that was the only thing that stopped me from enjoying U3 beta.
love the new animations they've added. saw another vid where the player did this really apprehensive shuffle, where he'd look back and around. it's animations like that that make the character seem more real. even if all you're doing is pushing forward on the analog stick, the character at least LOOKS like he's doing more.
