Inscrit depuis 5680 JoursThe next section had a robot boss battle, which was rather boring. Shoot out his arms, legs, head and then shoot the core. I can't tell you how many times I've done that over the last decade. Then the demo was over.
From what I have played, Vanquish seems pretty standard. It has tons of potential, but not quite a triple A title. I was hoping for something more over the top like Bayonetta, but as a 3rd person shooter. The soldiers around you big burly men that say the same stupid things as a typical war game. It feels that in trying hard to make a Japanese Gears of War, Platinum did not put the love into making a game that really shines amount the others of its kind. Vanquish is missing any kind of magic or individuality.
I hope the demo just happens to showcase the least interesting part of the game.

I just love Japanese take on sci-fi TPS, they always exagerate which I love.
45 seconds in that video, the super punch is jawdropping badass and those visual effects showing up :D

Its like saying Max Payne was wrong because normal people dont jump in the air and shoot and then glide on the floor and keep shooting.
Its all part of a stylish approach, much better than typical Gears of War, Uncharted stuff we are getting, its a nice twist to a famous genre.

Inscrit depuis 6880 JoursSure gliding all over the place, doing melee, seeing Sam doing cool acrobatic moves was fine, but they are limited and I was doing more cover to cover by gliding and shooting than anything else.
I will definitely play the demo alot more maybe my final conclusion will change, but so I dont think I will buy it day 1 or at all.
My plan was waiting for Raptor to buy the game and then he can tell me what type of bonus content there is for replayvalue.
Uncharted was a shooter and was SP only, but that game had great bonus content like mirrored levels, play any main character for fun, unlimited ammo, realistic shooting like 1-3 shot kills...etc.
I expect something cool like that for Vanquish.
The controls was fine, aiming took a bit to learn, wasent "tight", maybe too floaty at times. Animations was fantastic, tons of stuff happening in the background which made it very chaotic and awesome.
Again, I really liked it but maybe if I play the demo more I like it more...it was around 2-3 in the morning LOL

Inscrit depuis 6880 JoursPlaying 2-3 in the morning and being tired really effects your judgement which isnt good.
Now I had higher volume, I was rest to really sink into the demo, really awesome stuff.
But one thing I dont like is the fact using melee drains energy, that pisses me off.
I have been sliding a bit to a enemy and then I start to punch them like crazy and it drains the suit energy dry and then I am getting raped from all over the place because I cant move too fast to cover.
All in all, it definitely deliver son the gameplay as I expected, now if only we could know what type of bonus content and modes we get, if its good I will definitely buy it.
I am not a guy who cares about points and leaderboards so I expect something better!

First time didn't understand at all the controls,well I did but it took me 35 minutes to finish the first time dying a total of 10 times
Second time was when something just clicked and I started to really kicking ass,jumping from cover to slow motion,dashing all over the place to find better cover,using melee to take down the larger enemies,I took down the freakin boss so badass that I was the whole time!!
God damn this game its beyond badass I really loved it,graphics are awesome with so much stuff going on at all times,the effects are simply amazing going from the explosions to the little ARS suit Sam details everything its awesome IMO.

For a person that loves badass characters doing awesome things like this, Ryu Hayabusa...etc. put that in a shooter and it is golden for me, just awesome considering all we see is typical normal stuff like Uncharted and Gears...I want exageration!
The only thing I hate in this game is that when you use melee combat it will deplete all of your suit energy and if you are close to another enemy they will melee you, badly.
I died a few times in Normal just for trying to pull off melee and some shooting but damn it.
God I want to buy this game.
