Assetto Corsa Competizione will finally hit Playstation 5 and Xbox Series S|X on February 24 but today we have just been sent a gameplay video of the game on Sony's console.
Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games have announced that Assetto Corsa Competizione will take the advantage of the power of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S to run at 60 fps. The update will be free of charge if you already own the last gen version and it will be available on February 24 2022.
Unreal Engine 4 is not always easy to game, especially on consoles, and the Xbox One X version of Assetto Corsa Competizione is living proof of that. For some reason, the game's frame rate isn't locked at 30 so it varies just above, making the whole experience very stuttery. We have also seen what we believe are frame pacing issues, which add to the overall impression that the game regularly stutters. It's a shame really, because the developers at Kuni Simulazione have proven they are very capable when it comes to creating a very realistic physics engine. It's true the PC version isn't perfectly optimized either, but we were hoping for something much more stable on Xbox One X, even more so as it seems that the PS4 and PS4 Pro versions actually run smoother overall. To make matters worse, wheel implementation is not fully convincing on Microsoft's console, while it works well on Sony's and on PC obviously (where it's actually one of the best, if not the best). Let's hope the dev team can fix the most serious performance issues real soon so everyone can enjoy this excellent sim racer.
Assetto Corza Competizione is coming on Xbox One and PS4 and some people are concerned with the handling when using a gamepad. It's impossible to say if the game will perform well on consoles, at least not yet, but we can show you that it's totally playable with a controller. We simply launched the game, no practice, no time spent in the option menu to tweak the control settings and that's it.
Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games have just released a new trailer for Assetto Corsa Competizione, which is about to hit Playstation 4 and Xbox One on June 23. Just as a warning, the latest trailer (and the one before we also added) are in French.

Inside, you'll find a bunch of 1440p videos and one in 4K, all played with the Xbox One controller.
Assetto Corsa Competizione has been available in Early Access since last week and we have prepared a bunch of videos recorded as we were discovering the game. Only one track and one car are available at the moment, but more content will be added in the coming weeks/months. If you want to know more, check out the game's roadmap.
The release date of the Steam Early Access for Assetto Corsa Competizione will be announced during the Total 24 Hours of Spa endurance race in Belgium. Attendees wil be able to take part in a hands-on preview. New screens inside.
If you happen to be in Italy and plan to be headed to the Misano World Circuit, know that an lpaha version of Assetto Corsa Competizione will be playable. New screenshots inside.
Assetto Corsa Competizione is without a doubt the most anticipated game among sim racers, so today's videos should be quite a treat for them. The following extracts showcase 2 of the main new features of this sequel, the rain and the day/night cycle. The version shown here may only be pre-alpha, but it already seems to be a very immersive experience, Unreal Engine 4 allowing to feature even nicer car models than before.
