GSY Video PS5

Like Assassin's Creed Mirage and Star Wars Outlaws, Avatar: Fontiers of Pandora received a PlayStation 5 Pro update and removed all the previous graphics modes to only keep one with the Fidelity mode rendering at 60 fps thanks to PSSR. It's a bit of a shame to see that, once again, Ubisoft respected Sony's promise to get rid of all the graphics modes. Why you might ask? Well, because Avatar on Pro suffers from frame drops and tearing when played on a non-VRR display. Now it's true that most of those who bought a PS5 Pro probably all own a recent TV with all the nifty features that comes with it, but still. PSSR seems to work a bit better than in Outlaws overall but people complain about shimmering once again and it can indeed be seen when playing. PSSR also has trouble resolving the parts of the image where there is moving vegetation in the distance, resulting in blurred foliage in some areas of the screen. Careful though, don't think the dithering effects that are clearly visible in the sky in the end of the video are also due to PSSR as they were already present on base PS5 in all three modes.
Update: Second video added, a more static one to show the PSSR issues more easily.

As promised earlier today, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora returns on Gamersyde thanks to GeForce NOW. After playing the game with a 30 fps cap on our RTX 2080 Ti, it's quite a change to be able to enjoy 4K and Ultra settings without having to worry about uneven frame rates. To show you the impressive beauty of the game, not only did we select a particularly gorgeous area but we also recorded the footage in HDR. The video is only available on YouTube as a result, but your mind should still be blown.
Update: SDR video added for those of you who wish to download a pretty nice video.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will finally be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X tomorrow. We were sent our PC copies a week ago but the console codes only arrived yesterday. Usually, it does not bode well when this happens, but from what we have been able to see, the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also look phenomenal in Quality mode. The image is not as sharp as on PC mind you, but the level of detail remains impressive. We can't say the Performance mode has won us over though. On the one hand, image quality takes quite a hit and on the other, framerate isn't always steady, especially in combat sequences. Some tearing can also be noticed. A VRR display should allow you to get rid of some of those issues, but not all of them. Check out our videos to see all the different versions in action, and remember that to get the best quality, you should download the files instead of streaming the videos.

Today was Ubisoft's turn to reveal what is coming in the upcoming and after a pretty quiet year in 2022 when it came to new releases, we got new trailers, some gameplay footage and release dates. We have gathered all the YouTube videos that came out inside so you can pick and choose what you want to watch.
Update: Image galleries and downloadable trailers added.

Ubisoft just sent us a new video of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (in 1080p sadly) focusing on Massive's Snowdrop engine. You won't see anything new when it comes to the game itself but might learn a thing or two about what the team is hoping to achieve with the latest version of the engine.
