Fallen by the wayside not so long ago, the survival horror genre is now stronger than ever thanks to indie studios taking up the mantle. Following in the footsteps of games such as Slender, Outlast, and the Amnesia titles comes Zombie Studios Daylight, the first game running on Unreal Engine 4, with an interesting new twist on the genre in the form of a fully procedural experience. Note: Most of the videos were captured from the beta version with shadows set to medium except for the video "First Door - Alternative" which we recorded after the patch (with high shadows on). Configuration used for the test: i5 4670k@4.0 GHz, 8gb RAM, Win 7 x64, nVidia GeForce GTX780 OC MSI.
Daylight has been delayed until April 29 on PC and PS4 but PC players can already preorder it for $9.99 (€9.37) instead of $11.99 (€13). On PS4 it'll be the same prices depending on whether or not you are a PS+ member. Until we can find out if this procedural survival horror was worth the wait, take a look at the new trailer.
Atlus has just revealed the release date of Zombie Studios' psychological survival-horror Daylight. The $14.99 title will be out on April 8 digitally for PC and PlayStation 4. It supports Oculus VR and is 3D compatible. Also, the developers are playing around with the use of Twitch, for exemple (not final) if someone types "meow" into the chat, the player will hear a cat noise in the game. The feature is on timer to avoid spam and the full list of words won't be revealed. New screens revealing new areas inside plus story details.
Atlus and Zombie Studios start the new year by releasing a new trailer for their psychological horror game Daylight. The video focuses on the isolated feeling experienced within Mid Island Hospital. The game will be out soon for PC and PS4.
ATLUS has released a new btach of screenshots for Zombie Studio's game Daylight. The player controls the character Sarah Gwynn who woke up in the lobby of Mid Island Bay Hospital. Years ago in the game, all employees left, leaving furniture, files and records and the history of the island is just as much mysterious. It will be out in early 2014 for PC and PlayStation 4.
Zombie Strudios' psychological thriller and Unreal Engine 4-powered gets its first trailer. Within a procedurally generated world, players will have to escape an abandoned hospital while exploring its dark criminal past with only a cell phone as light source. Daylight will be released digitally this year.
