After our brief tour of the new island in The Crew Motorfest with the Switch 2 version, we’re returning to the game today to show you the very first glimpse of the “Expeditions” content—which takes a slight cue from Saber Interactive games like SnowRunner—and “Secrets of Ni’ihau,” which celebrates Ivory Tower’s collaboration with the Tomb Raider franchise. To make gameplay easier with this latest playlist, the game now features a new, fully free camera that finally lets you admire the scenery from every angle.

Switch 2 ports of titles that have already been successful on other platforms have definitely been coming a cool trend lately. The Crew Motorfest is the latest, and it’s coming to the Nintendo console as early as tomorrow. Because we were sent a code today, it gives us a chance to take a quick look around the brand-new island included for free with the first part of the Year 4 content, which launched today. A quick note about this version, which has a frame rate capped at 30 fps—stable when docked, but apparently a bit less so in handheld mode, especially during the day. On the other hand, in this second configuration, the game looks truly stunning—much less blurry than on a 4K TV—and is beautifully showcased on the console’s screen. The only real downside is the lack of analog triggers in a racing game as driving lacks precision, even though it is designed to be very arcadey. That’s no reason to let it spoil your fun when playing exclusively on Switch 2, or if you want to continue your game anywhere in handheld mode when you already own another version of the game (with your Ubisoft account, this is possible—but be careful, because content purchased on one version isn’t available on the other).

While you'll still going to have to wait a bit for our Crimson Desert video, we’re continuing our coverage of the PSSR update with ten more titles. As with the previous video on the matter, a chapter list is available for those who want the details, of course. Our work isn’t done yet, as we still have a few more games to show you, but the next video on the subject won’t be coming out today, as you might expect.

The new year of content for The Crew Motorfest began this week, and today we're going to take a look at the very first playlist dedicated to street racing, whose atmosphere is obviously very reminiscent of Need for Speed. Before we share our thoughts, it's worth noting that this new content is available for free, and while you do need to purchase the BMW M3 with in-game credits to participate to it, it doesn't require you to spend your real world money. As for the previous two years, the $/€29.99 Year Pass gives access to a list of twenty cars, which will be added to players' garages as soon as they become available in the game.

The Crew Motorfest is about to welcome quite a few nice surprises for its third year of content, among which two new Playlists (one dedicated to BMW and another focused on Street Racing, much like a certain Need for Speed series), new customization tools, RC cars, a Track Forge system allowing players to create crazy (or realistic) circuits and even a new "playground" island. The game is also now Steam Deck verified and Ubisoft also reveled that The Crew 2's hybrid mode (allowing the community to keep playing the game even when the servers are down) is available as of now. We were invited to a big event in Lyon at Ivory Twoer's HQ and it was great fun to be able to try some of the new features, as well as see some familiar faces again. We have a bunch of images and a video to share if you're interested.

As part of our PlayStation 5 Pro coverage, we're now stating to focus on third party titles like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, EA Sports FC 25 and F1 24 from Electronic Arts and Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Mirage, Star Wars Outlaws and The Crew Motorfest. We remind you that the best way to spot the differences with the base PS5 versions is to download the videos, copy them on a flash drive and watch them on your TV.

Some might say that a PC equipped with an RTX 2080 Ti andan i9 9900k is not what you'd call a mid-range configuration, but considering how hardware has evolved since their original releases it is clearly the case when aiming for 4K. As a matter of fact, we had to be reasonable and play with a 75% resolution scale (oddly, it's impossible to go below) to maintain a steady framerate. Still, we encountered a few micro-freezes, though we don't know yet if they are due to the game, our rig or the ultra settings we chose.

As promised, here's the second part of our coverage of The Crew Motorfest, this time on Xbox Series X. The following video includes gameplay footage in both graphics mode, but because the Quality mode is too unsteady at the moment, you'll mostly see the Performance mode in action. Enjoy!

The Crew series may not have been perfect but it's always had a special place in our hearts and we're very happy to finally cover The Crew Motorfest, the latest episode that takes us back to Hawaii, 17 years after Test Drive Unlimited. The Playlist system is a great idea that seems to make progression more appealing than in the past, and though the game is clearly taking its inspiration from the Forza Horizon franchise, this gives it something special that makes it a bit unique in its own way. True, as in most car racing games set in open worlds, the different characters can never shut up, but it's nice to hear them give us some anecdotes about cars or motorsport history when competing against the AI. It's not as thorough as Gran Turismo 7 mind you, but it's a nice touch anyway. Choosing the expert handling also makes the driving more fun and interesting from what's we've seen so for now, we're pretty satisfied with what we've seen. Now keep in mind that we've only played the game for a couple of hours so these are just first impressions. Inside, you'll find a gameplay video of the PlayStation 5 version, but since Ubisoft gave us access to all platforms, you can count on us for covering them all this week.

Ubisoft and Ivory Tower released another video of The Crew Motorfest but this time we get to see a lot more gameplay footage. Visually, the difference with the second game is pretty huge, as is the uncanny ressemblance with Forza Horizon.
