Milestone has announced that the East African Safari Classic DLC for WRC 3 is available on Xbox LIVE and Playstation Store now!
Following our Xbox 360 videos, today we offer you some PC videos of WRC 3. These captures are from the Road to Glory game mode in which you can drive other cars than the WRC mode. We recorded our runs with the help of a Logitech G27, no driving assist and manual gears. Finally, note that because of a performance problem during capture, antialiasing was disabled.
For many reasons, people do not consider WRC 3 as a potentially good game, but they are wrong. After two episodes which were far from being convincing in certain aspects, the franchise has come a long way and Milestone's title is now a solid rally game. It may not be impressive technically speaking, but the environments still look very nice. Above all, it plays really well, whether you use a controller or a wheel, and the sensations are excellent, with perfectly designed stages. A really nice surprise you should definitely try considering its price.
When we told you that September was going to be pretty busy for us, we weren't even close. With the flood of titles released this month, it was hard not to find something you liked, so chances are that sportsmen and lovers of beautiful curves - double meaning - alike all found the perfect match - again, double meaning. Our coverage of TGS probably managed to reassure the Playstation Vita owners among you, if our great videos from LittleBigPlanet Vita were not enough. In short, if you missed anything in the last 30 days, there's plenty to do while waiting for everything October has to offer.
When we saw that a new gameplay video of WRC 3 had been released, unfortunately only in Youtube "quality", we figured the best way for us to talk about the game was to capture our own videos. Since the demo was released a few days ago, we did not hesitate to wake up our Fanatec 911 Porsche driving wheel from its summer slumber. It was also a good opportunity to show the hood cam view instead of the usual external view Milestone use in their promotional videos. Some will probably say my driving skills are too poor for this game, but I still think I deserved a better position in the end. What do you think?
Update: New video added. It shows the cockpit view during a replay.
The first hands-on previews of WRC 3 are quite promising in terms of driving sensations, which would be a nice surprise if it turned out to be true. Until we get a chance to try the game ourselves to tell you if you should be optimistic, all we can do is show you a few new screenshots of the game.
This week, WRC 3 is taking us to sunny Portugal with a new full race. Once again, the choice of the external view is a bit of a shame, even more considering that the game features a cockpit view - which, we assume, means that more than 5% of WRC players use it. Maybe next time, but until then, here is a chance to see a new stage.
WRC 3 is once again in the spotlight, with this time a developer diary focused on the art of the game. In this video, you will find out more about the tracks, the lighting effects and the deformation system among other things. Our Italian members will also certainly recognize the French accent of Sébastien Pellicano, game director. Since we won't be present at this year's Gamescom, let's hope we can get our hands on the game early enough to be able to propose a full review when the game is released.
Milestone unveils some pictures of the Monte-Carlo track from WRC 3.
Milestone sent us this first gameplay video from WRC 3. It gives a preview of the Rally de España. The game is still scheduled for this October on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Vita.
