Xbox 360 PS3

After the other day's trailer, Activision releases three images of Tony Hawk's Proving Ground. We really hope EA's Skate has forced Neversoft to push themselves more than they did lately.

SKATE is going to own this game. They can add all these little extra features, but if the gameplay is the same old button mashing then its going to get owned by SKATE.

You make it sound like you have played both games already. Skate uses the right analog stick to do tricks. Do you know how cumbersome that is? Have you played a game called Rise To Honor? If it even plays remotely like that game we have some problems. Tony Hawk is simple and fun, calling it a button masher just means you are no good at the game, because it is anything but a button masher. I used to play THPS4 competitively and have seen somethings that are just insane. THPS8 was a step in the right direction from THUG, and even though I dislike AndyTHPS you should check out some of his oldschool videos. They will show you some interesting things.

Tony is stale, it should have ended with Number 4.

I dont think Tony Hawks is meant to be a skating sim like SKATE is and thats what people can't seem to realise. If THPS was meant to be so realistic then it would probably be like SKATE in the way it plays, but the fact is, it isnt meant to be like that at all, its like Forza 2 and Ridge Racer/PGR3.. they are totally different, the one thing they share is that its a skating game, but from what ive seen with SKATE.. it ends there with similarities. Get THPG if you want a fun, less serious approach to skating, get SKATE if you want a realistic sim, its a simple as that.

SKATE's gameplay is more realistic then tony hawks gameplay and alot more challenging. Tony Hawks pretty much about remembering button combos and SKATE uses the analog stick for tricks which make it feel like you actually have control of your board. personally, i think SKATE has a better gameplay style then Tony Hawks. If you like pressing a lot of buttons to do tricks then yeah you will like Tony Hawk more. but if u want to control the tricks u do more realistically then you will want SKATE

Hmm, kinda interesting. Although right now I'm leaning more towards skate. simple because I'm after a different presentation after 8 games of the Hawkster.
