PS3

Here come five screenshots of Motostorm. The game doesn't look bad at all, except for this annoying blur that gives me headache each time I close my eyes. Anyway, if the devteam achieves to fix the low gravity of the E3 demo, it could end up as a very enjoyable game.

Looks like this maybe one of the PS3 titles that hits the target renders. I'm impressed.

at this game they used [objected based]motion blur on all objects, the motion blur works uniformly on everything that gets rendered and create cinematic quality scenes and Unfortunately i can`t find Splay Usage of that effect on any x360 game.

The only thing i am dissapointed by is the lack of really thick muddy mud.

i believe it was the TGS traler , the prerendered footage had really thick mud, bikes were making huge thick muddy tracks, the vehicles were doing the same, the roads were pretty much getting destroyed and made uneven , mud splattering everywhere, the vehicles had their wipers going on like crazy, getting the mud off , mud was flying off the back of the bike's wheel , splattering everywhere..

pretty much whatever the vehicles ran over, the roads were destroyed with the huge tires, all dirty and muddy.

but come e3, sure the models look good and all, but the whole impact of mud was gone..instead what do you have? alot of dust! even in these screenshots, what do i see? DUST! i saw some off screen footage of the game and it was the same, dust and vehicles in a race, sure tire tracks were being made leaving the muddy like trails on the ground, but where is the mud everywhere? and why the inclusion of dust.

Dirt bikes should be diving over the top of the cars, with muddy wheels, splattering the mud as a strategy over the vehicles at the back etc..

i wish it incorporated that feature..i'm not liking the dust at all..anyone else agree or even understand what the hell i am trying to say?!

It looks about 70% as good to me. The lighting and texturing aren't as detailed, but thats to be expected seeing as how this game is several months away from release, I think it can look better.

nowhere near 70 percent of the target. Quite a disappointment in that respect, but I like the idea of racing with different vehicles (bikes vs trucks vs buggies) on the same track. could be lots of fun, potentially.

with the motion blur it looks AWESOME. More games really should use motion blur like this, it really improves the overall look. I know Lost Planet uses it and it looks great with it, and even Shadow of the Colossus on PS2 uses it and looks awesome.

The blur looks over used to me. It looks kind of wierd in motion.

Actually in motion it should look alot better than in screenshots. It really smooths out the game alot.

Agreed that this isn´t exactly the E3 trailer we saw last year, but I still think it looks good.
I just want them to make it faster than the playable demo we saw, and I want to see more destruction on the cars.

It's just the different angles and the somewhat overuse of motion blur. It almost seems as if they're using alot of motion blur to mask the low-res textures.

The thing I noticed about games like this is that the soft shadows are like 80% of what makes the graphics look good. So when your completley under a shadow, the shading and lighting are faded out and it looks pretty bad. Because theres only 1 layer of shadows (dunno how to say it technically) So when you are in a shadow, theres no shadows cast anymore, you really have to be in light to appreciate the gfx. Like this shot, doesn't look very good graphically:

And its not only this game, games like MotoGP 06 look pretty awesome when your in light, but when you enter a tunnel, or are under shadows it looks like an xbox1 game.

With motion blur or without motion blur it`s look like crap! Lowpolygons vehicles....it`s a level of Xbox1.

What a waist of development time. This game needs more than OFF-ROAD fury to catch my interest. I hope there is more to this title than just driving in the dirt. Are there cities to drive around in?
