Xbox 360

Shinesevens put online these 5 videos of Project Gotham Racing 3 on his server, who very promptly crashed and burned. But thankfully MorphBzh managed to download all the videos before that and sent it to me. Some of them are very interesting, presenting all the cars or all the tracks for example.

Good to see that Shine7s video's are finaly hosted by a proper site.
Thanks BlimBlim. That saves me few long downloads with slow connection speed.

I don't thing the interlace problem was with the original movies.
Maybe the way BlimBlim converted the files made it happen.

I used the same method as always, it certainly wouldn't interlace stuff if it was progressive in the first place.

Sorry BlimBlim. You were right.
I just checked the original MOV-files and they had the same interlace problems.
I thought it hadn't those problems, because the movie I saw didn't have much sudden movements.

btw. I just read something very interesting in the german xboxfront forum.

Microsoft said to them that the AA will be in retail versions. the Xbox360 has a special chip only for the AA... hardware AA!

EVERY Game will have AA due to that chip. The features of that thing have something to do with Windows Vista and therefore MS did not release the software for that chip yet... strange but...

Thanks for re-hosting these BlimBlim and thanks for the credit :) I have more footage of you are interested and I am an utter novice at encoding (sorry) - if you have any advice on how to make it better. I'm taking the footage from a DV camera in raw DV format to my PowerBook and into Quicktime 7 - then I was using a Sorensen 3 export to encode the mov files. If you can advise a bertter way of doing it?

It's the Noble M400 which is one of the first cars you can buy. I think it's the updated slightly faster version.

nope... it's not the the embeded ram.

The original text from one of the admins from xboxfront.de:

for the german speaking of you...

john is basically right... There is a second chip on the GPU package that contains 10MB eDRAM, the FSAA logic and some other stuff.

This is a good article on the matter:

Here's a shot of the chip:

Antialiasing. It gets rid of jagged edges between objects/objects+backgrounds.

Its more noticeable in screenshots than in motion. I guarantee you wont see 'jaggies' in any 360 game while playing, if you do it will be barely noticeable. You cant get completely rid of it with only 4x.

Also in case you guys didnt know MS requires all 360 games have AA just like they require them to be in 720p.
