Not only is Alone in the Dark making its return but Atari too. This new episode will feature a first person perspective, four playable characters with different abilities and a co-op mode. Alone in the Dark: Illumination will be released this fall exclusively on PC, at least for now.

They shouldn't hold back on PC, it looks like they're still suffering from the stigma of ps3 and 360. the characters and environments should be at least 4 times than these screens.

The trailer looks like it could be more up to date. looks better than theses pictures.

There are ways to make that tense and even frightening.
Also, games like Resident Evil 4 (and beyond) exist, so I don't see why this is such a big sticking point.
And the game does not look nearly as bad as people are making out. It looks fine. Screenshots only show a fraction of a game anyway, so judging based on that is just silly.

That doesn't look like first person to me!
And as someone said before it is funny that a game called "Alone in the dark" is co-op.
My expectations are quite low so hopefully it won't disappoint me.

It could be both, but if the teaser is any indication, then the first person view will be there - which it was anyway in the 2008 game.

PC exclusives don't suffer because of consoles. PC exclusives suffer because of the PC developers.

If it looks bad, it's because the devs didn't have the means, the money, the time, and/or the interest to make it look better. These are things that won't change with time and hardware. There will always be ugly games.

I just checked out more info, it's UE4 based so it's going to turn out much better down the road. at least they picked a good engine.!
