Yeah, I saw the E3 presentation just like the rest of the world. Visually it's top shelf, just like you'd expect from a Ubi Montreal title. How the gameplay will stand out (if) still remains to be seen.
Artistically-wise, I do hope it's not just Venice, but also renaissance Rome, at the very least.

Well Florence will be there as well... no need for Rome if you have that, imo. ;)

If there's one game this gen that painfully points out that graphics < gameplay, it's assassins creed imo. I still can't believe people have been able to enjoy this game...it's just beyond me.

Hoping this will be better, but the E3 footage has all but convinced me...

What's painful about it - one doesn't enjoy the gameplay, one sells the thing. Fight Night's are usually very nice visually, that doesn't mean everyone enjoys boxing games.

@Cheboury - I'm sure the developers are reading all game related sites diligently and you'll get a kiss from Jade in due time for your spectacular efforts, so just keep at it boy :)

This Limited Edition figurine looks really different from Ezio in the game, and kinda distances itself more from Altair's look. It kinda also gives off a more south european vibe to me.. I wonder which of the two will change.

Yeah, but that's what happens when you can climb on EVERY ledge, on EVERY building in the WHOLE city with loads of people walking around with AI :P Can't say that about Uncharted 2 which is why it has more small detail. This game manages to be quite the looker even on the massive scale it has. Also, the game has several cities, including Tuscany...

Simon: that suit the figurine has is unlockable or something...i don't remember where but i'm sure I did read something like that.

I think it looks great but then i haven't seen much of it in motion.

neither, i think the idea is that the black cloaked ezio is the final stage of ezios character upgrades. so while ezio may not look as awesome as the black cloak version throughout the whole game, he will look like that at some point.

as for the scale/visuals debate...it means very little if the gameplay sucks....and after watching the video's of gameplay it looks an awful lot like the first game....which isnt a good sign...howfully i'm wrong and it's bags of awesome.

That figurine represents Ezio's master assassin outfit, looks so awesome, much better than the white one.
You will get to wear that once Ezio becomes a master assassin.

I thought the actual gameplay of AC was fantastic, that was never my issue with that game personally. The parkour chases were nuttily great, but the game never provided you with reasons to actually use those maneuvers. For me, all AC needs is to push me to really use the unique things I have at my disposal instead of setting up guards like bowling pins for me to knock down one by one or.. turn a corner on and leave absolutely dumbstruck.

If only the first game actually had the two hit kills that were promised at E3, and guards that actually relentlessly chased you down after you killed someone, it would've been a superb game despite its weak sub-objectives in the missions.

What AC1 needed was more structure. Like say you were to assassinate some guy, set him in a freaking palace, place guards and prtesto: you ahve a mission for Altaïr. Unfortunately that wasn't the case, and the dreary save-random-girl-at-street-corner type repetitions totally killed what was left. The game solely survived on the great exploration. Just running and climbing around was genuinely FUN in the game...too bad the rest sucked.

Seriously... what does the E3 presentation (the moment Enzio fights those guards with halberds in the courtyard) say to you about that wish?
Even the devs say they've not re-done the fighting, because they believe "it worked". That's what I call self denial.
