Ubisoft sent us the launch trailer of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, the current gen version of the game shipping next week. Until we can tell you what it looks like, let's assume this fourth episode will be better played on next gen consoles. Who knows though.

Thanks for the trailer, I really love the Assassin's Creed games, but AC3 wasn't as good as AC2, AC-B and AC-R, still from what I can tell of the game, AC4-BF is more in line with the former ones than the latter. Either way, I have high hopes for it being a very good/great game.
As for current and next gen, I don' know anyone who plans on buying AC4-BF for the PS3/X360, plus the AC games on PC aren't very demanding - even to play them at 1080p @60fps, so hopefully a part of the people who doesn't plan to buy the PS4/XBO this year and will buy the game decide to buy the PC version.
With a PC controller, a PS4 controller or a PS2/PS3/X360/Wii controller with a console to PC adapter, it will give them the same experience as the consoles and they will have the same graphics as the next gen versions (if not better).
Also, didn't see anyone anywhere mention this, but I believe that Ubisoft made the right decision to only release the PC version of AC4-BF on the same day as the next gen versions, I know they always release it later on PC, but they could have decided to release it 1 month after the PS4/XBO versions, hopefully when they don't make anymore PS3/X360 versions, they will release on the same day - just like Watch Dogs was supposed to.
Ps. Is it okay to call you simply "Drift"? :)
Okay
That would cross boundaries that would make him/her (I believe it's a he, but you never know) and me uncomfortable, so Drift is fine. :)
@Drift
As for pre orders, I guess so, but the people I know almost always prefer to play it consoles, however, ever since seeing those 1080p videos from Gamersyde with those high textures, better physics and amazing visual effects, they decided to play it on PC, since they won't be getting a PS4 or a XBO.
So after seeing how great the game can be on PC and next gen hardware, they couldn't play it on PS3/X360. I know it varies from person to person, but I honestly believe that if people saw how great - how much more better - this game can be on PC and how easy it is to play games on PC, they would do so. Although this is an entirely different subject.
@catfish
I think you were joking, but here it goes, sometimes you need to do horrible things to make this a better world, shades of gray and all that stuff.
Not saying it is horrible per se like killing people, but Lincoln used corruption to abolish slavery in the US, so sometimes - not always - the end justify the means.
Who here if given the opportunity, wouldn't bloody their hands by killing key high ranking officers of the Nazi Reich if they could stop WWII and prevent 50-100 million innocent people from dying? (This is the same as fighting terrorists, dozens of them need to be killed in order to protect thousands of innocent civilians.)
