If only it was a PC game, I would buy it.

Ace Combat is a console series, it has never come to PC and it never will. It was actually a PSX series and I was surprised when Namco made it exclusive to 360 :P

Anyway I haven't played a AC game in a while and I am a huge fan, day 1 purchase for me.

Hardly a PC or Console game... looks more like a cabinet on-rails experience than any attempt to a sim game.

What? Its not a rail shooter....there is some emphasis on close air combat but I think its optional

This site is not for console games only. There is a lot of screenshots and videos of PC exclusive games like Trackmania 2, Arma 3, Witcher 2 etc. And there is also videos and screens of the PC version of multi-platform games like BF3 and Deus Ex: HR etc.

Graphics look great, but it's been a loooong time since I have cared about AC. Everything about the game just feels so automatic to me. Start with your aircraft already in the air, line up behind enemy, fire exactly 2 heat seaking missiles, watch them blow up the same way, repeat for 38 times, end mission in the air.

If they were to make a sim style option where you actually had to take off and land, and had challenges like landing on a moving carrier, I would be all over it. I could spend days just practicing carrier landings on games like IL-2 and Pacific Fighters. The physics in games like those make them infinitely replayable. I doubt AC will ever be anything more than an arcadey shootem-up though.

And that is all it is supposed to be, all it ever has been and all it strives to be. Your complaints are akin to wishing burnout had pit stops, realistic handling and engine tuning options. It isnt a sim, isnt trying to be a sim. So why wish for such things?

If you want a flight sim, play a flight sim. Let AC be AC, in all its simplistic, arcadey action glory.

LOL, so it is completely outrageous to want to be able to take off and land an aircraft in a game in which you pilot aircraft? Oh yeah, and those features you so despise were actually in some of the old school AC games, so I don't think it would be that crazy to want them to be in AH.

BTW, Project Aces themselves describe the series as "hybrid arcade and simulation experience", so I don't think adding a bit of depth for those of us who might want it would hurt you in any way. Obviously you would be able to skip the parts like landings that aren't arcade-y enough for you...
