We're trying to catch up with Need for Speed: Shift's promotional videos and it's not always easy. Today, we're giving you no less than 5 different trailers presenting either tracks, cars or a new game mode and there's even an interview of Jesse Abney in the bunch. The hype machine is definitely on with EA as we get closer to the release date.

Forza 3 maybe next year when the price gets lower.
What a great year for motorheads.
These Shift threads always remind me how fickle most gamers are though. EA and NFS haven't put out a good game in how long now and all it takes is a bunch of videos with nice graphics (though not as nice as many act like) and a well done cockpit view and people are all going crazy for it.
I agree the game looks like it has tons of potential, but anyone who is a serious motorhead and is more hyped for this than GT5 or Forza 3? Come on now....
If this turns out to be realistic, I might even pick it up, but right now it looks like...meh.
Combining arcadey physics and proper race tracks is the worst design-decision you can possibly make imo.
I agree 100% about arcade physics and proper race tracks being a worthless combination (just look at Grid). But if they do it right, a decent mix of arcade with simulation sensabilities (like the brilliant PGR games), then Shift could be really damn good. It all depends on how well they make you feel attached to your car. PGR nailed the arcade/sim combination, but games like other NFS games and Grid show how bad it can be.
Lets hope SimBin had the right influence and this one, by some miracle, turns out to be a proper racing game

But seeing those videos, it looks more arcadey than PGR.
(Michellin test-track and Nürburgring where the tracks I had the least fun with in PGR4)
But Slightly Mad Studios consist of some ex SimBim developers.

I'm still hoping for a PGR type gameplay more than anything else. Damn I wish that series wasn't dead.
The cockpitview really is the highlight of this game for me, it looks awesome! Especially when it get's a little blurry inside, I love that...
