Video PC PS4 Xbox One

The sad news has just been announced, Batman: Arkham Knight is postponed to June 23. Rocksteady and Warner Bros. try to apologize with this long gameplay video and a short message explaining the reasons for the delay.

Batman: Arkham Knight will now launch worldwide on June 23, 2015. We're a developer that hates to make any compromises, so we are sorry to say this means it's going to be just a little bit longer until you can play the epic conclusion to the Arkham trilogy. As a reward for your patience and understanding, and to make the wait even more unbearable, we are pleased to whet your appetite with a new gameplay video of Batman: Arkham Knight.

Thanks so much from everyone at Rocksteady for your continued support. We are working as hard as we can to make you proud.

While this is a bummer, as long as it is to make the game even better, fans will understand. Also, there's a lot of other games to play while waiting for its release. And for those with an ache for playing a Batman game, there's always the old games and their DLCs.

I just finished Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate yesterday and it was a very great game, was hooked on untill I finished, then immediately went back for a 2nd playthrough.

I really recommend it for anyone who likes 2D-3D action adventure games like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Super Metroid, Ori and the Blind Forest, and Guacamelee!.

I think there is a problem with the video. Both the stream option and the 900Mb file are corrupted or something.

Batman Arkham Knight is in a competition with The Witcher 3, on who can delay their game the most. My money's on the Witcher 3. Why? You always bet on red.

get it...the witcher 3 is made by CD Projekt Red...ok, I'll sit in my time out corner.

Meh, its only a few weeks more, its not like it's been pushed back to October or something like that, though it may to wrestle for a spot with Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition supposedly coming out a few days before on the 18th but I'm sure I'll manage somehow

Or GTAV (PC).

Definitely UE3 though, graphically it's not much different to Arkham Orgins on PC, just has a ton more DOF.

No. what's that? Is that a new show on Mtv, about poor people asking the government to pimp their ride?well...admittedly, I suck at gambling...but I'm a hellified great dancer. At the end of the day, that's all that matters when you're trying to bring home great tips from the club. Yeah.

Just finished watching, the gameplay looks amazing and "the bat using the bat" fight was epic! Can't even imagine all the other weapons we will get to use to "kindly treat" our foes.

And the visual effects were mind blowing, specially the mud in the Batmobile, even more when we realize that even a lot of racing games don't have effects like this, and this is an open world game.

The more I see, the more excited I am for Batman: Arkham Knight, probably the best contender for GOTY 2015.

Man, to me it has been already downgraded. The rain drops don't reflect the lights anymore! It does ruin the atmosphere in the game.

I believe the reason why it looks "downgraded" is because Rocksteady released images and videos of the PC version first and then made an exclusive advertising deal with Sony for only showing PS4 images and videos.

Which wouldn't be so bad, however since Rocksteady said they are doing console parity, visually the PS4 version is the same as the XBO version, most likely 900p resolution and etc. Hence the not so good visual quality.

Since Rocksteady never held back the visual quality of the PC version of Arkham games before, best to wait for Gamersyde videos of the PC version and compare to the early images and videos to see if they're the same, better or worse.

EDIT: urgh, even worse they incuded PC in that parity too. what morons

As much as I enjoyed the first two, I don't think I care to play another one of these games. I never was all that into the art & style of them, but this one looks really silly.

I would have rather this be set the Adam West universe.... actually I'd be well up for that!

Yeah, they actually said "parity on all platforms" during a livestream back in December, I think. But I highly doubt they meant PC as well, must have been a "spur of the moment" comment since they didn't hold back on the previous Arkham games on PC. Even when compared to the PS3 and X360, I highly doubt they will do so now when compared to the PS4 and XBO, which the difference wouldn't be as much significant.

The only way to truly achieve parity on "all" platforms is by locking the PC version's resolution to 900p, the framerate to 30fps and not implementing any PC's GPU technologies like nVidia's PhysX, the GameWorks suite (HairWorks, FaceWorks, FlameWorks, WaveWorks, PostWorks, ShadowWorks), Turbulence, VXGI and etc that the consoles can't handle. Which Rocksteady will never do.

Batman: Arkham Asylum supports: PhysX, Particles, Cloth, Destruction:

Batman: Arkham City supports: PhysX, Clothing, Particles:

Batman: Arkham Origins supports: nVidia Turbulence, HBAO+, Advanced Soft Shadows (ShadowWorks), TXAA, DoF, MFAA:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0GnVSyYDjQ

Batman: Arkham Knight will at least support: nVidia GameWorks - nVidia Turbulence, Environmental PhysX, Volumetric Lights, FaceWorks and Rain Effects.

Plus nVidia has always partnered with Rocksteady and WB Games on their respective games, just like they do with Ubisoft and other companies, they have a great relationship.

These are the reasons why I'm not worried about the PC version, Rocksteady isn't Square Enix which did an horribly PC port of Final Fantasy XIII and just patched it because a lot of people complained and pressured it by threatening to ask for a refund.

Man, I hate this generation of consoles. They are too weak. They are pushing the developers into a corner to decide between the bad and worse. Watchdogs, Witcher, Assassin's creed Unity, The devision, and now the only game that I am having a huge boner for.
If I lived in a country with a decent internet speed, I would have bought Nvidia Shield without a second thought. Streaming games at 1080p 60fps at their highest settings for only 200USD. Sounds like a great deal to me. At least better than these piece of junks which are useless in the second year of their lifespan.
Man I am pissed.
