GSY Video PC PS4 Xbox One

Our second batch of videos captured with our newly acquired GTX 1080 will focus on two games which had performance issues at launch. No need to dtail the Batman: Arkham Knight fiasco once again, since the game didn't even run perfectly smoothly after its second release, especially for those who owned an SLI (the game didn't support it...). The case of Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is clearly different, as The Chinese Room cannot be compared with Warner Brothers and Rocksteady in terms of budget and manpower. That being said, it was still surprising to see how poorly it performed on high end systems, forcing players to tone down some more demanding settings. Even last week the latest SLI profile from Nvidia didn't allow to max out all settings and maintain 60 fps. As you can see, things have changed for both games thanks to the new GTX.

We should have proposed analysis videos of the PS4 version of Batman: Arkham Knight a while ago, but for various reasons, they are only available now. The game was patched a few hours ago, and though we're not sure what has been fixed, Blim's plugin shows that Rocksteady's title can hold a steady 30 fps on PS4 despite a bit of tearing once in a while. As a bonus, we've added two gameplay videos showing new passages after playing a bit more than three hours. Don't worry though, they are completely spoiler free.

Considering the awful PC port of Batman: Arkham Knight, it was quite a sad livestream to watch overall. That being said, if you want to know more about our financial situation, what we plan on doing, and also who we don't really appreciate, you might want to skip the first 30 minutes and listen to the rest. We were awfully tired so don't expect excellent English or sensible reactions from us, but after watching you'll know what is going on for Gamersyde.

While we found the Xbox One version of Batman: Arkham Knight to be quite impressive from a technical standpoint, PC players were in for a big surprise when they launched the game this morning. Indeed, it's hard not to be mad at Iron Galaxy, in charge of the PC port, and Warner Bros. for releasing the game in such a bad state. Framerate is all over the place even on a powerful rig (ours for example: i5 4670K @ 4.2 GHz, 8 Go RAM, Windows 8.1, SLI Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 Gigabyte OC) and it's oddly locked at 30 fps by default. Many people have also reported numerous crashes or momentary freezes, but we have been spared so far. The videos you'll find inside were captured from this morning's version of the game, before we edited the ini file to try to play at 60 fps. Since Steam is presently downloading the full game again, some of the problems might have been cause by preload issues. We'll let you know tonight, but for now, it looks a lot like the launch of Mortal Kombat X, another Warner Bros. fiasco on the PC scene.

Because we feared you might be overwhelmed by the number of videos of Batman: Arkham Knight we captured, so we finally decided to dedicate a special news article to our analysis videos if the Xbox One version. Note that these videos benefit from Blimblim's 1.02 version of our analysis plugin which can now spot tearing (yeah!).

Gamersyde was not going to miss the embargo lift on the video footage of Batman: Arkham Knight. Since Warner Bros. had no intention to send us the game before its release, we had to turn to our friendly neighborhood retailer. Even though we got our hands on a copy of the game last Friday and hadn't signed any NDA, we decided not to break the embargo because we are good people. The silver lining is that we've had more than time to prepare a lot of gameplay videos for you to enjoy. For those who can understand a bit French, we've added a commented video we recorded on Friday. Don't worry though, we have plans for a real live stream in English, tonight at 9:30 GMT+2. Until then, we hope you'll appreciate all the footage we've prepared!
