Xbox 360 PS3

Electronic Arts released these images of Burnout Paradise. No indication of the version these are from, but I think it's pretty clear they are *very* close anyway.

Looks pretty nice. Sadly, I can't play the demo yet.

Yes... I am a cursed Silver user >.<

Graphically it looks nice. Sadly they've taken the game in the wrong direction. Now it's simply NFS with crash sequences... :/

No, it's much more. Play the demo more, and go online. You'll see how good it really is.

Biggest dissapointment is that I remember seeing cars get ripped in half but they are goners. Why would they not include that if they dont have to deal with car licenses?

blinx01 ahhh man well dude you really should play the game like JediMasterMalikIgnoreSend said. he is right about the online cause the friggin game uses the online like no other game and Hell no!! is no way like NFS. Burnout is always been unique with their crash style and racing

Yeah, hi. It's always been NFS with crash sequences. The main difference I notice between this demo and classic Burnout is that there is less traffic, but I'm sure that can be adjusted in the final game.

Looking at the last picture, I am wondering if the damage you do to signs and the such is permanent in the gameworld, or it just mysteriousy reappears.

i love the demo so much, i can play it for hours just messing about with the freaking amazing damage model. when they said each crash is unique they weally wern't kidding. having a major crash but getting a "drive away" message after it is very satisfying. i just wish there was more in the demo to do, or at the very least the new style "crash" mode.

What I mean't by the NFS comment is that it's taken the free roaming aspect from NFS and just placed that in the Burnout universe. It's most likley an attempt to try and increase sales by appealing to the 'chavs' and more casual gamers that buy this sort of tripe. A real let down as i LOVED the previous Burnout games (apart from the last one where you could just knock cars flying :/).
As for the online comment, it's been done before in Test Drive and Midtown Madness. ;)

Online it's kinda a grown up Midtown Madness! :)

I'm still hoping for a Midtown Madness sequel on the 360 ...

really dont see how creating an open environment is going to appeal to the "chav" populus? and NFS was far from the first to do it. the burnout series has 9 times out of ten always progressed in a direction that made sense for the series (minus traffic checking) and this is no different imo. to me this game feels like what burnout should have been from day one, only they had to hold off due to technical restrictions (ps2) but now FIALLY we get what is essentially their propper creative vision.

well it's actually 3 times out of 4, but the fourth was held back by much more than traffic checking alone.

I haven't played this one, but I have my doubts.

actually its 4 times out of 5 if you want to be pedantic...lol (burnout, burnout: point of impact, burnout: takedown, burnout: revenge, burnout: dominator) and the future burnout: paradise.

PS2 only! (forgot, PSP too ^^)

Well, I'm quite sad, but I have the same meaning as blinx, 'till now. Just downloading the demo, and I really hope it changes my mind about this series. Point of impact was the best imo.

Didn't like the demo at all. The free roaming aspect doesn't cut it for me. The cars feel heavy which I liked the most and the transistion from gamepad to the raod is very well made, the cars don't feel like they're as light as paper as seen in the previous Burnouts.

However the races are horrible. If you use other ways to get to the finishline you won't see any other NPC drivers, ever. You have to look at the cofusing map in order to race good, wich takes away the whole Buroutfeel for me (mindless racing and just praying to make it in one piece). Only way I had fun with this game was exploring the city and doing some stunts, similar to Crackdown if that compairson is allowed. However there are just not enough things to do in the city besides racing (wich in my mind is the only logical reason for creating a whole city in the first place), so I'll pass. Yes, I have to agree it's basicaly NFS without customasation.

I love the burnout series, and I think I must be one of the only people that enjoy the ludicrous traffic checking. I don't play Burnout for realism, which is why I actually enjoyed the fact that you could practically send other cars into orbit.

In fact, I think i'm one of those rare (weird) people that enjoy the later titles to the originals.

This game however.... free roaming... WHY?! Is there some option to go back to the where the race starts? If there is then I'll forgive it, a little bit, but I couldn't see it so I just had to drive all the way back through the city.

Yes it's fun, and I like the realism of the crashes, I guess I'm just sad that it's not continuing the series, it's more a return to the original games.
