Word of a new Call of Juarez game did not particularly make people very excited yesterday, but today Ubisoft decided to surprise us a bit by announcing that Call of Juarez: Gunslinger will be only available as a downloadable game on Xbox Live, Playstation Network and PC. Let's hope Techland will not blow it like in Call of Juarez: The Cartel. The return of the Wild West is probably a way for them to make us forget about the last episode completely. images and trailer inside.
Press release:
SAN FRANCISCO — September 6, 2012 – Today, Ubisoft® announced the coming release of Call of Juarez® Gunslinger. Reliving – and revealing – the lives of the most infamous lawmen and outlaws of the Old West, Call of Juarez Gunslinger will challenge gamers’ skills in the unforgiving frontier. Developed by Techland, the brand new iteration in the Call of Juarez franchise will be firing away in 2013 for Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360 Entertainment System, Sony Entertainment Network and PC.
Returning to the roots of the series, Call of Juarez Gunslinger puts gamers in the shoes of a bounty hunter who has his sights set on taking down the most notorious gunslingers, including the likes of Billy the Kid, Pat Garett, Jesse James and more.
Giving gamers the tools to take down the best, the Concentration Mode made famous by the series returns with a twist – allowing gamers to unleash a flurry of bullets while dodging others. Along with the gun slinging abilities, gamers will hone their skills and acquire new abilities in a series-first skill progression system, allowing players to develop their own gun fighting style by choosing the abilities they want to develop.
