Have watched this so many times. I like it.

Reminded me so much of the dumb fun in Avengers: Age of Ultron that I've had the Avengers Main Theme on repeat while modelling. :3

Nice intro. Shame really since this is how the evolution of Halo single player should be.

Weirdly enough, this intro made me crave a 3rd person Halo action/shooter game as I think the absurdities would translate better.

As the nature of the gameplay begins to zero in on the nature of the lore, I can't help but feel that a lot of what the Spartans are capable of is lost on the 1st person perspective.

Another CGI were our hero/heroes do insane shit, then ingame they are weak as fuck and cant do most of the stuff they show in CGI.

Yes. His character is in ODST too.

Nathan Fillion is credited in ODST, and he is back again for Halo 5.

Awesome CG, i wonder what the in-game characters look like though.

These are the in-game models just with added benefits of post-processing and far more advanced shaders.

So, they'll look like this. Just far far less "shiny".

Yeah. I watched the trailer and at the start i was thinking "why are people thinking this is CGI. This is what the game should look like..." But then the particle effects started happening and it's clear it's all pointless pre-rendered footage. This is what i wanted halo 5 to look like. and if it was 30 i'd imagine with some trickery it wouldn't be far off.

It isn't clear on whether the cut-scenes will be 60 or 30 fps. 343 however did make it pretty clear on the gameplay, mentioning it since day one. Some developers do prefer to lock their in-game cinemas to keep the transitions from CG to in-game synced and cinematic, EA is one of them.

There is an in-game render of the Halo 5 Nathan which does look pretty close. But Besides that, this video somehow feels more on the pre-rendered side, unless 343 is aiming for 30 fps cut-scenes and are also using advanced hair.

Personally I would MUCH prefer campaign be 30fps at 1080p and better visuals, and MP 60fps. I think the game kinda looks like crap but I pre ordered the Guardians bundle.

Actually no. Most of the actual moves pulled off in this video can be done in game by the player or is apart of in-game animations like executions of such. It looks to serve as a "inspirational tutorial" for the player to get the ready for the gameplay that immediately follows this cut scene.

Sorry, but the cinematic shows such a speed and momentum and while doing all those they do 1-hit-kills and all stylish.
Now show me a video of the gameplay to back up that statement, until then...i will stick to my opinion on that matter.
And this isnt the first game to do such a thing.

Lol, yeah right. The only thing that looks in-game in this trailer is that shitty ass roll animation at the end.

Anyone expecting the game to look like this will be disappointed.

My God. It's just an opening cinematic.

Yes there are moves shown in it that you can do in-game. No, it won't be as fast or fluid as this in the actual campaign, but it will be a lot faster than people think, so I wouldn't be worried about the speed.

Also, judging from the beta, Halo: 5 is proving to be the fastest Halo to date, so now it's down to 343 to bring set-pieces that take advantage of what we know of the Spartan skill set and integrate them into the campaign, which I guess we won't truly know about until its release date.

While not their worst offense, I actually think this made the game worse. Halo's muddy speed was finely tuned to gamepads. That's soft criticism though. I don't even consider this the same series anymore. Time to walk away and let 343 (and a gaggle of outsourced developers) do their thing.

Not a trailer. It's a cutscene. Supposed to get you pump for what is about to happen next.

Yeah…I'm not talking about the speed at which the cut scene is paced or time it took to kill their enemies (that will depend largely on difficulty settings), I'm talking about the actual MOVES displayed in the cut scene (Sprint, roll, ground pound, Spartan charge, slides, new hijack and execution animations etc.) all of these are actual moves that can be done in-game that were also in this cut scene. It's meant to condition the player and get him/her ready for the new additions and how they can be used…gameplay starts right after this scene ends, so it's meant to inspire you to start trying these moves yourself.

This is the same stuff i saw in Ninja Gaiden CGI, Ryu did some crazy shit in CGI that you could never do in actual gameplay, period. If you could, it would be some half-assed crap.
My point is, cinematics always overexagerate moves, fluidness and style the main character does that you never will be able to pull off similar type in actual gameplay.
Is there same features in there? sure some of them, but it will never be as stylized and "momentum"-ish as CGI presents.

When Halo 2: Anniversary is actually working, it is precisely what fans of pedestrian Halo have always wanted from Halo going forward as a series: the exact same experience with performance increases.

I wouldn't necessarily say the speed increase has made Halo 5 worse for Halo as a series (subjective), it's just made it different, and though that may be the case, 343 have also managed to hit their vision of the game without compromising some of the fundamentals that make a Halo game.

I remember watching a Halo 5 stream and one of the better known Halo pro players entered and the first thing he said was "LOL I'M NOT PLAYING THIS SHIT".

...

Cut to about 2 days later and he can't tear himself away from the damn thing.

Most of the contempt and concern for Halo 5 comes from people who didn't try the beta, have no intention of buying Halo 5 or are still sour about Halo 4 (or the MCC), which is so unsurprising that at this point in time I actually expect it.
