The second map (with the boat) is unlocked from the start this time..and theres some really nice effects with the lighting and water. Some of the textures are pretty lazy though (like the view finder things) which is surprising.
Still having fun with it...and still think its a nice mix of MW and halo. Although playing MW2 straight after i find that alot cleaner and nicer looking
I played Gears of War 1 on PC tonight for the first time. 1920x1200, DX10, antialiasing and hasn't skipped a single frame less than 60 yet. Blows away anything on both consoles and probably my other PC games. I can't believe how different it looks. Crysis 2 SP better show some amazing things.
Or to be more specific, when aiming down the sight the weapon does not move at all, no bobbing, just bulletspread, takes away the feel of shooting away from me, especially after playing Killzone 3.
I do love the nanosuit though, very nice.
But I am personally waiting for March 15th for PS3 demo considering thats the one I plan on buying.
Hopefully it turns out very good, because overal its a fun MP game.
I thought you were saying the opposite... I think.

When you aim down the sight/scope and you shoot, the weapon doesnt shake/move/bob back and forward like most shooters do. The sense of feedback of the weapon bobbing, there is non in Crysis 2, at all!
Games like Killzone, Bad Company 2, even the modern COD games, they do that.
Even in Crysis 1 you can see it, but in Crysis 2 its completely gone, only your bullets will spread around thats it.
IMO, that removes the sense of a punchy feedback from the weapon and that is annoying, especially after playing the recent Killzone 3 game.
OK that isn ot a problem with me but can you hear feel when you hit something?
I want as much sound feedback as possible!!

Its hard to believe in who is right and wrong.
The only way to know for sure is to wait until March 15th when the demo is out on PS3, and even then we dont know how old the demo is.
I guess retail version really.
The PS3 uses Libcgm and another API that is based on OpenES or GL basically if a game dev does not bother their games will not be as good yet when you play PS3 specific games like Killzone 2 and 3 and Resistance 1 and 2 you don't see any problems.

I'm so tired of people making up excuses every time mpf games are compared and the PS3 version falls short. Poor port, they favor MS, 360 is lead platform, blah blah blah.
Seriously, how many games does it take for you to suck it up and admit the hardware is no better than the competition? I can't believe that myth is still clutching the hearts of many.
